Time travel make head hurt.
Poor Major Kawalsky that guy can't catch a break. Even in an alternate timeline his ass is killed on the first mission. I don't know the fate of the alternate universe Kawalsky. I noticed in this episode his uniform said US Marines but with an Air Force patch on his sleeve. Not that it's a first they screwed with him on details. In the movie he's a Lieutenant Colonel, but in Children of the Gods he's called a Major but his rank insignia change back and forth between Major and Captain. But I digress...
My main complaint about this episode was that it ended too quickly. It would have been nice to actually see the revolt they were planning.
I also wonder, does this mean Stargate is a pre-destination paradox? In the movie it is told the Egyptians revolted against Ra and he left leaving behind the Stargate. However an alternate timeline is created because SG-1 leads the revolt early and Ra takes the gate with him. The revolt plans change this time with the jumper grabbing the gate so Ra can't and leaving it in Giza. So is it possible to say that without SG-1 the revolt would have never happened or it would have eventually but Ra would take the gate?
I'm guessing the end of this episode takes place before the two parter, just moments before the end of Threads which ended with everyone fishing in O'Neill's lake.
This episode also had a teaser for season 9 showing new characters Ben Browder as LCDR Mitchell and the new SGC commanding officer. And for some reason Danial has a beard?

Danial? Is that like Denial?
Anyway, anyway to see any of this season 9 preview? When does it premiere?

It was mentioned on Gateworld that Shanks would be sporting a beard for the first few episodes...

Poor Kawalsky, indeed.
The guy really needs somebody to give him fair warning next time.
"If you go to Chulak, you will die."
