And I can't remember it's name! I seen it years ago, and it's been bugging me lately. There's this guy who moves into his dead grandpa's house or something. It's a really big and old house, like a mansion. Anyway, there's a gateway or some crap to the past, with his great great whatever grandfather, and he's a cowboy and tries to kill the guy that moved in. That's about all I can remember

Well I know for certain that it is not the first House movie, but I'm not sure about the second one but I don't think so.

I may be remembering a different movie, but I believe House, at least, was about tortured writer George Wendt moving into a tortured home.

House is more about homes of the haunted variety, rather than homes of the time-traveling cowboy variety. At least, as far as I know.

It's house 2. And it was William Katt in the first movie, Gorge Wendt was his bumbling neihbor.
