Well there is a petetition that is underway to make sure we will get a season 6 and 7 of Stargate SG-1 not just to five...

I think we might get 6 and 7, but I signed it anyway.

I don't think online petitions, or any petitions really do much good. I sitll hope they make them though.

It would do much more good to send in an actually letter to Showtime about the show than to sign an online petition.

Agreed. Look how many shows have been saved by letter-writing campaigns: Star Trek, Quantum Leap, La Femme Nikita... Those are the only ones I can think of right now, but there's probably a couple more.

I don't think its a matter of 'saving' the show, just ensuring that they'll keep making episodes... if that makes sense...

No, you're right. It's one thing if the TV-companies want to cancel it even if the producers and directors of the show is going strong, like in S:AaB, but when the creators and actors themselves want out, then you've got trouble on the homefront.
