I am just curious if there has been any new info lately. The info I have is nearly a year old. Also I've heard that Alien was always intended to be a 6 movie series. Is there any truth to that?

I would actually be more interested in "Predator III", with a look on their homeworld or interstellar hunting grounds, than "Alien V" or "Terminator 3".
It has far more options scriptwise, although the chance is they'd ruin the predator's reputation even more than Danny Glover did, heh.

Thoes franchises are a bit bland now, "Resurrection" wasn't so good, and without Jim Cameron on T3 I think it'll be just slightly better than, say, Starship Troopers.

Their only winning option is to portrait the future timeline of Terminator, la 2017 or when it was, but with Edward Furcoat in the cast I suspect they'll either set it in the present or build a timemachine that Sarah and John can use to go to the future.
Which will break the "They destroyed the last time machine after I was sent" line.

Wasn't that line destroyed anyway? Or is there another explanation for how Arnie and the T-1000 came back?

Alien was originally meant to be a 6-part movie series? Er, no. Not in any way. At all.

The timeline is rewritten every time someone comes back. The future that takes place after the end of Terminator 2 is, by definition, different from the future that Arnie and T-1000 remembered. They altered it by their very presence in its past. Thus, the writers can do pretty well anything they want, even stupid things like more time travel. I'd like to see the war happen in T3, personally.
