Thanks to our local library, I got my hands on the lost 1939 Heinlein novel (and zipped through it in a few hours - my head still hurts).
For fellow lovers of the Grand master - a worthy read. He had not yet finely-tuned his characterization skills - but his concepts are wonderful.

I'm re-reading Dan Simmons' Hypereion just now. Fucking amazing book.
Then I think I'll re-visit uber-paranoia with Greg Bear's Vitals.
Hmmmm....Mabye I'll do War of The Worlds as a primer first.
