I recently finaly got a copy of a import DVD of Macross Zero, probably from Hong Kong and after looking and relooking at the VF-0's slo-mo transformation sequence, i gotta say Roy Fokker's VF-0S looks Gorgous! but it has me thinking...

now, some of you liked (and disliked) the recent Battlestar Galatica Mini Series...and you're mized feelings of ENT besides, you liked that pict of the the "revisionist" Conny class, in ENT colors...

do you think that, if the folks in japan remade the Macross TV series, that the overall design of the Zero should be the template for the production model VF-1 airframe? my justification is, where back in the 1982 series, the closest aircraft show that looks like the Valkyrie airframe was the F-203...

But in Zero, it's fairly obvious (finally, i might add)that the Grumman F-14 Tomcat was the design's parent, a huge nod of respect to the soon to retire aircraft in the US inventory.

good idea? bad idea? STFU, Pensive ?

Hey, no self-punishment necessary, you're among friends.

Yes! Good idea! The idea of Space Battles shown with the crisp of "Final Fantasy: Spirits Within" is mouth-watering.
The Original Veritech Fighters above all, especially Fokker's, with the paint job borrowed from the real life "Jolly Roger" squadron, the Fighting 84th and 106th.

At last, an excuse to put up this pic.

And the originals

About the phaseout of the F-14, imagine what an F22 Raptor would look like with the Jolly Rogers paint scheme. Slurp.

Talk about old school. those are 80's pics...the Tow Tractor was a A/S32 A-31, with Air over Hydraulic brakes. The CYLOP of those tugs didn't occur unitl the mid 90's...

And VF-84 and VF-103...you know, i suspect they had the the idea of transition to Hornets much longer that discussed. when VF-84 disestablished in the late 90's, there was already a VFA-84...

good pics...
