Hey. Sorry - I'm behind watching Heroes - it just started in Australia. I got around to watching episode 2 just then. AWESOME! Loved it.
One thing I'm wondering if anyone noticed...
The paintings in the shop of "Mr. Isaak" - the guy who has done comic... I assume is the guy who can predict the future when high or OD'd - those symbols in the paintings...
Did anyone noticed it matched the 'empty spaces' in the genetic code that the Indian Professor's son and the (cute) girl were looking at!?!
If you do reply to this - please only post stuff from the first two episodes!!

I noticed it the second time around, when showing it to others. I love Isaac's painting/comic style, it would easily work as a spinoff, if the same person did the characters. That web-comic available from the Heroes-website wasn't the same at all, though, very much more ordinary style there. And it is more PG than the show itself...

Yah, I noticed that symbol in the code the first time I saw it. Keep your eyes peeled. It's not the last time you'll see it.

OK just finished episode 4. That ending was BRILLIANT! OMG! OMG!
Screw it i'm downloading the rest!
P.S. That symbol - it looks like one strand of a double helix. It also seems to have different 'notches' for different people on the map. Trs intrestment!

Which one was #4? The one with Claire on the table? Yah that was good.
Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :
Yep - that one and the cliffhanger for ep 3 with her on the table was good too!
#4 was the one with the appearance of future Hiro to Peter? Patrelli.

Tidbit time.
"Top Gun" 1986, first briefing, far left. Codename Chipper.

I've just realized that the only movie with Tom Cruise in a starring role that I've ever seen in its entirety is A Few Good Men.
Also surprising : He only has a total of 33 acting credits on the IMDb.

The Last Samurai and Top Gun were about the only good things he did.

Um...and Nicole Kidman.....

But she got tired of the fact that she could bop him on the head, Bud Spencer style, if she wanted to.
Like Tim here in the middle, look at that bop-ratio;
Going back to the thread, here's Pasdar in the graduation ceremony. Sadly, his only speaking part was as a ghlougher to Tom;

Hoy. Andrew. You caught up yet? You only had twelve to go to get up to where we are now in the story.

I've been pacing myself because I'm REALLY loving this series!!
So I'm JUST about to watch episode 11. I've downloaded up to episode 16 - which I believe is the most current episode?? Is it true that it's only 18 episodes for season 1?
Posted by Aban Rune (Member # 226) on :
Not sure. Some pretty heavy info is about to be dropped about Claire's adoptive father, next week supposedly. I could see that starting to wrap up the season.
Posted by Johnny (Member # 878) on :
Episode 16 is the latest one. I hope there are more than 18 episodes in the season, but it would make sense for there to be that few based on
SPOILERS
the pace at which the plot(and Peter's powers) developed this week. It almost felt forced, but it was really, really cool. It also seemed as though Peter was turning to the dark side a little.

Just watch the first 2. Only just showing in the U.K. looking good so far. I think i'll just watch them on T.V. as there's shit loads of other stuff I like to watch. Also lagging behind in lost but at least caught back up with the U.S. this time so don't get loads of spoilers.

Was it eleven or twelve epidoes before the Winter hiatus? I think it was eleven, with that being Chapter 1, and then another eleven comprising Chapter 2. Which would leave six more before the end of the season.

Yeah it was 11 episodes - and now I've just watched no. 12. I'm being very good and watching one-a-day. I'm pacing myself. It's excruciating! This series is just SO BLOODY GOOD!
I went looking the otherday to see how many episodes there are or will be and all I could find reference to was 18 episodes. Hopefully it is 22!
Episode 12 they just introduced Christopher Eccleston! "Fantastic!"
Posted by Peregrinus (Member # 504) on :
You'll be loving him even more by now. *heh*

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :
?They only had a little bit of him going psycho on Peter Patrelli?
Posted by Peregrinus (Member # 504) on :
We'll keep checking in with you on Eccleston's character until you're caught up.

OK ep 13. He seemed to help Peter now and it's weird seeing him with lighter hair and WOO GEORGE TAKEI!
Posted by Peregrinus (Member # 504) on :
Gotten through #14 yet?
--Jonah
Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :
Yup done 14 and now to watch 15!!
I was just mulling over all the links on Heroes and then I thought about the actor links and their links to other series, shows and genres!
There are some pretty big links! Maybe in some weird way it helped the series along.
George Takei - Star Trek Christopher Eccleston - Doctor Who
That's two pretty big shows there already.
Then there is
Eric Avari "Papa Suresh" - Stargate Greg Grunberg - Lost and Alias
Any more connections?
Posted by Peregrinus (Member # 504) on :
Eric Avari was also in ID4.

Stan Lee was in last week's episode.
Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :
Any connections to B5, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings?
Posted by Peregrinus (Member # 504) on :
Marvel published the first Star Wars comic series. B5 was DC... Beyond that, I'm not sure.

I mean in the show Heroes... not in the realm of comic books.

Yet another Who-vian appears in Heroes. Eric Roberts in last nite's episode.
Posted by Johnny (Member # 878) on :
The guy who plays D.L. used to be in Buffy. I think he was one of those super soldier guys in the crap season that had that boring blond bloke dating Buff. A few other Heroes have connections with Buffy as well.

As this thread is/was about earlier episodes of Heroes and has ceased to be, I recommend trandferring conversation to the other, more general thread.
