First off, if you have read any spoilers for part 2, please keep them out of this thread. Create another thread or whatever, just don't post them here. I've come within a hair's breadth of getting spoiled from other forums, and I don't want that to happen here. -----
Anyway, it seems they're finally getting into the meat of this so-called trial. I'm not sure they can prove that Baltar actually did anything, but I don't think he'll get away free, either. I'm just confused as to why Apollo has involved himself in the whole thing.
Looks like the President's cancer is back. I know some people will accuse this of being another part of a huge reset button for the series, but it is consistent with modern cancer treatments.
It looks like Anders went and joined up. Not sure of his motivation here, but I wouldn't have figured him for a pilot. A marine, maybe, given his history, but not a pilot.
Any guesses as to what that music was? Obviously Tigh and Anders heard it, but it seems like the President's aide was hearing it too. At least that's the impression I got from the look she and Anders exchanged. At that point, they didn't seem as confused about it as Tigh did. Don't know why it would have that effect on her, though.
The Cylons are still in hot pursuit! And for some reason, Helo seems to think Bad Things are about to happen. But I had to laugh after he said that and Gaeta just looked at him - it seemed to me that Gaeta was thinking "oh great, we just exchanged one crazy for another!"

BSG is really running full speed toward the primetime soap it was always destined to be. Sigh.
They've replaced the story of the original show with melodrama and insipid daytime soap-style subplots.

At the time, I thought it sounded like Anders, but, now that I rewatched it on SciFi's Web site (in rather a lower quality), it sounded a little like Tyrol.
Possibly the people hearing the music are the final five?

And the prophecy that the dying leader will not see the promised land may yet come to pass. ...And I doubt Hera's blood will work a second time.

I wondered if the people hearing the music were Cylons, though it would still really defy explanation. The only other possibility I can think of is that the music is somehow the real method of tracking the fleet. Tigh said it was in the ship itself and though he was drunk I don't think he was imagining that. Maybe the music somehow reverberates through the ship to create.. something. Something trackable.

Trackable, because it's audible by Cylons? It's two theories in one!

Except that certain people are hearing the music only now that they're getting very close to the nebula. That's my guess, something to do with the next milestone to Earth.

And I'll bet the music itself has something to do with the opera house on Kobol that people keep having visions about.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the opera house. Which is silly, because because it was also shown in this episode. I'm pretty sure that Roslin's vision/dream about Hera is supposed to be in the same opera house that Baltar was hallucinating way back when.

I do wonder what they symbology of Laura's dream signifies. One would assume that Hera represents the future for both Cylons & Humanity, Athena & Laura's race to embrace her possibly stands for the competing Cylon/Human ideals...the question is, was the Six Caprica-6 or Head-6?

I thought the look between Anders and the President's Aid was about them hooking up off camera. Of course, the disheveled appearance of the aid and her lack of sleep is going to come back somehow.
I have the impression from watching next week's preview that Baltar will be found not guilty. Then the courtroom breaks out in a huge mob as they attack him.
Wonder when Lee will return to the military.

It'll be in typical TV show fashion: next time there's a crisis he'll toss on the uniform and everything will be like he never left.

Except this is Galactica.

Yes, it's Galactica, but Lee is still the fleet's best pilot(now that Kara's gone). As soon as the Cylons begin their next attack and the last remnants of humanity are put in peril he's bound to get back in the cockpit, he's not so stupid and pig headed that he'd sacrifice the fleet to save face and neither is his Dad.

I dunno, the admiral seemed pretty pissed... I'm not sure if a reconciliation will be as easy this time. Before (in the miniseries), it was just Lee being stupid and obstinate; now, there's a genuine philosophical difference that's ripe to be milked for a good half season or more.

Mmm, I think they'll be at odds for some time, but that won't stop them working together next time the Cylons turn up.
