Did anyone ever watch this? I was reminded of it when I found out that Bill Mumy co-created it, and then I found out that Jewel Staite was in it - so I have seen her in something after all! She was just quite a bit younger.
I've been trying to find a torrent or DVD or something but I can't seem to...I'd really love to watch the show again. It only ran for two seasons, but it's a bit of my childhood.

Well, I've found out from several places that it's never been released on DVD. Which sucks the big one. There are a few short low-quality clips on YouTube though. It's funny to see a 14-year-old Jewel Staite (which reminds me - she's what, 25 now? Bit young to be a doctor, eh? ;P Well, the Atlantis Expedition does hire the geniuses.)

Sheridan shoves it out an airlock, and then the Space Cases find it floating in space. Amusing. (Further edit: Ha! and "Minbar chess.")

Weird stuff.
I don't think that one was ever shown over here but it puts me in mind of an Australian kids show that we did get around the same early 90's-ish time. Girl from Tomorrow, or End of Tomorrow? Something like that. Very cheep sci-fi, but not bad for a kids show. Something about telekinetic hairbands that you just have to love...or not.

I remember this show. I watched it religiously. It had a catchy theme song. Also they flew in ship shaped like a bird. Too bad it was canceled after like 2 years.

...I just watched the pilot on YouTube. It's actually very good. Cheesy, but the good kind of cheese.
EDIT: Also, I read the listing of episode titles. I'm in love with this show now. Anything that can quote Cat Stevens and The Doors in its show titles has to be good.

I've never heard of "Girl from Tomorrow" but I do remember another kids' sci-fi where the actors had either British or Australian accents (it was an awfully long time ago...) called The Tomorrow Children. Something about a crashed alien spacecraft that gave them the power to conjure glasses of orange juice out of thin air. Or something.
Space Cases was single-handedly responsible for me watching sci-fi on TV. (The book "Alien Secrets" by Annette Curtis Clause...Klause?...was responsible for me reading sci-fi in the first place.)

Yah. That one was based on a book series. One of those big ones where most of them are ghostwritten. There were some good stories in the books, though. Some. Don't know anything about the show. (We didn't get cable until the week before I left for college. Now I have it, I don't feel I've missed out. But hey, we get hockey games...)

The books were very very good up through the first of the ghostwritten ones. The show sucked so badly I'm surprised it didn't melt the universe. (I know that doesn't make sense.) The best part about the book series were the "Chronicles" additions, which were told in-universe but were about other locations, times, and people than the Animorphs themselves. The Ellimist Chronicles, for instance, is about a particular being living on another planet many millions of years ago, and his journey to virtual godhood. (The Ellimist appears in the Animorphs books a few times to help - within the rules; he's opposed by a Satan analogue called Crayak, with whom he plays a 'game' to avoid all-out universal destruction.) Great stuff for the age group at which it was aimed.
Also, to answer a previous question, yeah, that's the black ranger. Besides Jewel Staite, nobody else went on to do any other genre roles; the woman who played their teacher is still acting, I think, but in mainstream drama type roles.

I'm actually amazed I found this on youtube, who keeps this stuff? I think it holds up reasonably well, considering they obviously had almost no money. Gotta love that title though, "A Time Without Vegemite". If that doesn't scream Australian sci-fi I don't know what dose.

Been watching the show (Space Cases)... heard reference to "the Narn homeworld" in triangulating their position; "Minbar chess;" "Epsilon 3;" "Medlab;" and getting directions to a planet - "If you're coming from the Delta Quadrant, take a left at the Bajoran wormhole and then take the Vorlon hyperspace bypass to exit 42!" There was also Who's Afraid of the Dark? which did have some genuinely scary stories and there was also the Shelby Woo mysteries. Ah old times. Makes me feel old. I miss the 90s, the 00s suck ass.
