I would have to say that, to date, these two episodes are about the worst Heroes has put out. [Frown]

At the end of the episode I was getting the feeling this entire show will have turned out to be inside a comic book with the comic book *in* the comic book in some kind of endless recursive loop.

It just seemed kinda pointless. Okay so it took away their powers, but then it was over and surprise, surprise the powers returned. So there was never anything for our Heroes and Villains to worry about, they just had to lay low for a couple hours.

And do they really have to make Mohinder look like a complete blubbering idiot every scene he has?

"What's that?"

"Oh yeah, but I'm sure it and our powers are related in any way. I'm absolutely, positively 100% sure it's a coincidence."

I would have thought that somehow the eclipse coming back would have enhanced their abilities somehow. Or at least given those people who have had their powers taken - like Maya and Peter to get a reset and get them back. Actually - maybe they did - cause we haven't/didn't see either of them attempt to use their power in anyway.

Nathan's turnabout is stupid. Didn't his mother already admit to him that the Company thought that they could save the world, yet it didn't work. Actually they should have explored that aspect. Why they wanted to blow up Manhattan etc. What originally went wrong with the Company.

Some things...

1. How the hell does Peter Patrelli know how to use a machine gun!?! He knew how to 'cock it' etc. He's a bloody Nurse. How many people here would know what to do - or where to check for bullets, or not be surprised by kick-back etc!?!

2. They finally answered where the new 9th Wonders are coming from. My question is... who WROTE 9th Wonders. The obviously needed to know how to speak Japanese etc. I mean all we've seen of future painters like Mendez and Usutu and the one's who stole the ability like Arthur, Peter and Sylar were paintings only. No 'speech bubbles' or 'text'.

3. When the police came to ask questions they called her "Mrs. Butler" - not Mrs. Bennett. What?

4. Noah was trying to convince Sylar that Arthur and Angela were using him, cause he'd read his files. Why didn't Claire chime in there she TOO had read his files.

5. Nathan's change of heart - YET again. Didn't Peter already explain to him that Pinehurst and Arthur and giving everyone powers would result in the destruction of the Earth?

7. Something else that they never answered with season 2, I just remembered. Peter's Irish Girlfriend. She was stuck in the future. Does that mean she died when the time-lines changed?

Bless You! on #7. I always wondered what happened to her, I thought maybe I'd missed a scene or something.

Lucky guess? Most people have seen it done on tv and movies a hundred times.

None of them were comic book artists, Isaac was. As for knowing Japanese; perhaps Isaac was multi-lingual and/or a Manga fan.

Didn't catch that, but I'm pretty sure it's just a fake name. Are the family still technically in hiding? I've lost track.

Well either he's lying or she hasn't read THAT file since it wasn't one of the one's he had at home. You'd think something like that is back at the company under lock and key. On the other hand, perhaps Claire made a point NOT to read it; not really wanting to know anything more about the creepy guy who keeps on after her.

Nathan is nothing if not...can't think of a good word for well intentioned, naive yet tenacious.

Presumably she's "still" there (still being a relative term considering we're talking about an alternate future that will no longer come to pass.) Unless someone has the power to cross universes (Hiro?) I don't think we'll ever see her again.

P.S. What happened to 6?

I don't know!?! Maybe that can be no. 6. But then there wouldn't be that question to begin with... so it eliminates itself! OMG! I think I've created a paradox! [Big Grin]

3) Butler was the fake name the Bennett family took when they went into hiding, remember? I was all excited cuz it's my last name.

The 9th Wonders comics we've seen in Japanese are the ones that have been obtained by the characters in Japan. It's called "translation".

Again this is starting to feel like a season where a lot is happening, but there's not really one big story that is progressing. The Eclipse doesn't seem to be particularly interesting in restrospect.

The two parter gave us some nice character moments, I suppose. I did not like Hiro being a little kid. He's been trying to become a 'hero' since his first episode, and I believe its about time he becomes serious about his abilities, and take on something of the Future Hiro we saw in S1. OTOH, him being a kid at least gave Ando something to do, which was nice.

You have to wonder if Hiro made Sylar leak a few amps when he showed up. He has to be the one thing that Sylar can not 'understand' as his actions have a random factor beyond projection.

Posted by Mars Needs Women (Member # 1505) on :

True, Sylar never made an attempt to take Hiro's power.

Does anyone else wonder where Hiro sent Sylar and Elle? They didn't seem very concerned that they'd been sent off to a deserted beach, but it could have been in the distant past for all they knew.

Posted by Reverend (Member # 335) on :

I just assumed it was a desert island somewhere.

As for why Sylar never attempted to take Hiro's powers; it wasn't for lack of trying, it's just that Hiro is far more powerful. In fact I think the only way Sylar could hope to pull it off is if he took the Haitian's powers first...good luck with that.

Posted by Fabrux (Member # 71) on :

Kinda makes you wonder if Sylar can take Peter or Arthur's power, considering they're different facets of the same power.

Sarcasm Fail.

There are instances where we've seen both English AND another language spoken from the point of view of 'author'. Not a complete translation of the entire comic. So yeah, do duh.

Actually, I recalled what no. 6 was supposed to be, yesterday when I was in a shop - just out of the blue. I have now forgotten it again. Hmmmm.
