Cool. Rapid cuts of shit blowing up. Could have done without watching a carrier group being destroyed.

I'm anticipating this movie...let's see, this summer will be good for movies ( or at least, the ones I like). We have TF:ROTF, Trek, and the new Harry Potter movie.

Harry Potter? Pfft. Anyways, there doesn't seem to be much to the trailer besides explosions and violence. At least it doesn't reveal too much of the plot, which more that I can say for most trailers.

That Wolverine movie comes out too. Actually looks pretty cool.
Fuck Harry Potter and the broom he flew in on.
I'm pretty "meh" about Transformers 2- the designs seem so far removed from the classic cartoon- and really, the nostalga is why I went to the first movie...
I'm pretty ambivilant about Trek- avoiding most spoilers but looking at the tech designs- the bridge has these vertical glass panels that i've bet $10 smeone falls through. Not real excited.

"...there doesn't seem to be much to the trailer besides explosions and violence." There's probably a reason for that.
"At least it doesn't reveal too much of the plot..." Plot? That's adorable.

Don't patronize me sir! Even a Michael Bay film has to have something like a plot so as to justify all the explosions, regardless of how poor it might be.

Since WHEN?!?
Unless you count "a story about a series of car chases and explosions against the backdrop of a dusty sunset" as a plot.

Hey!
I have no love for Michael Bay, but the plot for Transformers was every bit as meritable as that of "Superman the movie: The new movie" or "Romper Stomper".
Sure, the sequel-rule will undoubtedly apply (bigger budget and shittier writing) but in movies like these, we as Members of the Nerdage can only benefit from that. Less plot-twists and turns to irritate the pretentious movie geek palate, and more budget equals longer CGI sequences and hopefully robot dismemberment (yes I liked the Optimus/Bonecrusher fight). Another thing you mustn't forget is that the bigger budget also meant that the poor assistant to Megan Fox could be allowed a coffee cup with her own name on it, during principal photography, instead of having to slurp up whatever remained in Ms. Fox' cup, after Ms. Fox' toenails had dried off and she didn't need to use her assistant for a footstool anymore.

All I have to say is.... OOH! Shiny!
Plus, I'll be taking my 9yo son to this one too. As I've said before, I'm expecting an entertaining popcorn movie, not Shakespeare.

"Romper Stomper" Is that the movie with the Neo-Nazis?

Lol Romper Stomper.
From a certain point of view, the milk-bottle fight in the middle is an analogue of the Special Forces pile-up on Blackout at the Deli window, and the beach-dagger scene in the end is as two brothers turned on eachother, like Optimus and Megaton, from a certain point of view.

"Poor" still implies the presence of SOMETHING. Saying the plot of a Michael Bay movie is poor is like saying the tropical beach front property on the moon isn't very good.
I'm not saying Bay ever pretends otherwise or makes any apologies for the wilfully inane scripts, just don't pretend that story is even a factor with that guy.
For the record though, I don't actively dislike Bay's movies - they're usually quite fun in a concussed kind of way - it's just that it's all getting a little...unfocused. Maybe it was just a symptom of Spielberg's involvement with the last one, but it could never seam to decided if it was supposed to be a straight-up action adventure or a bizarre comedy.

Exactly how I felt about the last Indy movie. And Speilberg's War of the Worlds.
hmmm...maybe bigger explosions would have helped them...

I am hoping mainly for more sunsets (because the 30 or so last time weren't enough) and that they don't cancel Animated because of it.
Seriously, "Transwarped" was the best episode of Transformers since "The Agenda". I heart it.

Really? I like his use of the American flag. It was even on the Russian space station in Armageddon. I swear, if you played a drinking game to when you see a US flag you'd be hammered half way through. Then again, I'm a patriot type guy, so I don't really mind seeing my flag everywhere.

You know, we're not allowed to show off our flag over here. Apparently it offends the foreigners.

It's the hentai tenticle attack scene you have embroidered on it that offends: the colors are really quite calming.

I'll give you that. But other than Prowl's stupidly-named ninja moves, "TransWarped" was indeed pure awesome. I mean, they got Judd Nelson to come back and do Rodimus Prime's voice again after all these years. Yeah, I know he's hardly the first G1 voice actor to do Animated, but still... I now have hope that Orson Welles can be raised from the dead to once again voice Unicron.
