Someone made a map.
Seems a lot less crammed than, say, the Firefly 'verse. Although I'm not sure how those four stars would orbit and I'm sure Ragnar wouldn't be so peaceful in the middle of 'em.

Funny, I always thought Ragnar was a nebula and that the 12 colonies were in the same system.

Ragnar is a gas giant. In the miniseries they show Galactica going down a "hole" in the upper atmosphere to a calm spot lower down.

Like MNW I originally thought Ragnar was a nebula. But apparently it was always supposed to be a planet (they specifically mentioned being in orbit), and the reason we didn't see it as a planet was because all the action took place so close to the atmosphere we couldn't see the limb. Hooray for not just looking like another Trek view angle!
However, this map can't be canon. The Hybrid in "The Plan" clearly said there were THREE stars, not four.
