Think about it. Episode 1 had great special effects. TMP had great special fx (for its time?), and lots of it. Episode 1 had a weak plot, bad dialogues, AND bad acting. The same could be said for TMP except maybe the dialogue and acting. Both had an ten-year-or-more hiatus of the franchise, leaving fans begging for more. Both were successes despite the disappointment because of the hungry fans. But I doubt Lucas will get kicked out of the producer's chair.
Maybe the even-numbered movie will be better.

RB: "'Get a life' is a phrase heard a lot, though I have never known exactly what kind was implied. Seems a lot of shallowness and greed is the rule."
CS: "I guess that it means the kind of life led by the characters of 'Dawson's Creek' or 'The Simpsons'."
Bad acting?!?! What?

Doctor: "Run along. I'll reattach any severed limbs. Just don't misplace them." (Voyager: "The Killing Game")
Elim: Jake Lloyd. Liam Neeson is a good actor, just not in this movie. You can probably count the number of his emotional phases with one hand.

The Voyage Home
A New Hope
The - Em - pire - Strikes - Back
The - Fin - al - Fron - Tier

well ESB - is a 'dud' for me - i doesn't really do anything SPECIAL - where as so far ANH - was the first
Jedi - was the last and TPM was the first prequel.

I don't think you all realize that this thread was half meant in jest.
