I recently replayed "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight" and "Jedi Knight: Mysteries Of The Sith", almost entirely by lightsabre (maybe a concussion rifle to snipe off a guard or two, or some grenades, but that's it) and enjoyed it far more than the first time I played them, three years ago. There lies special pleasure in dropping from an air vent down to a room with five stormtroopers, cutting down three of them when you land, deflecting a few blaster shots from the remaining two troopers, jumping over their heads and slashing their unguarded backs, all the while your health and shields are still at the lovely 100/200. Makes you feel useful.
The force powers were especially pleasing this time around as well, as was the strategy in choosing which ones to develop.
Oh, to lift a guard off the ground with Vader's classic choke move, his feet kicking and his hands grasping the throat. Or throwing your sabre at a guard, running around him and picking it up after it has passed through him.
Anyhow, I payed more attention to all the beautiful and carefully crafted cutscene movies of "Jedi Knight", my monitor is now better than the 14" I had in -98.
Thus, I was surprised when I noticed the wide assortment of identifiable sabres in the game, very different from each other and not a single "cameo" of the original ones (Kenobi, Vader, Anakin).
So I fixed some pictures that I could use in my collection, and thought I'd share them with you gois.
These are the ones from the games, but maybe Mara Jade's sabre design was established even before "Mysteries Of The Sith".
The late Jedi Rahn's sabre, kept by Morgan Katarn and passed on to Kyle Katarn.

And the schematic from the in-game Setup menu.

The Dark Jedi Yun's sabre, later to be taken over by Kyle as Rahn's sabre is destroyed. (This is only the CGI version, the prop wasn't visible enough in the cutscenes)

The Dark Jedi Sariss' sabre, a truly intriguing and beautiful design, the sloped emitter looks a bit like Vader's. She holds it with both hands and still has a bit of it free, it must be a long one.

The Dark Jedi Pic's little sabre. (Looks a lot like Kenobi's design from ANH, only smaller)

The Dark Jedi Boc's sabres. Yes, he's one of the few who goes akimbo. An interesting note that the grips are white, very unorthodox. Unfortunately no full monty there either...

And now the big tamale, Dark Jedi Lord Jerec's sabre. My favourite, a very simple yet streamlined and organic design. The first two pics are CGI, when Kyle force-pulls it to him, the second pair is the real prop.
