I'm surprised no-one else posted this yet...

Actor George C. Scott Dies At Age 71

I haven't seen much w/ him in it, but I thought he was good in Dr. Strangelove. "But... he'll see the big board!"

He was also in a little movie of some importance to certain Flare Forums members: "They Might Be Giants."

On another note, Mr Scott was in the movie "Taps" with Tom Cruise, who was in the movie "A Few Good Men" with.... Kevin Bacon.

I'm sorry that George C. Scott is gone. You want to talk about class? You want to talk about a SERIOUS actor? One word: Patton. Like it or not, he'll always be remembered for that roll if no other. And I always think whenever one of the older stars passes on (Roy Rogers, Burt Lancaster,) you never heard about these guys beating their wives or waving a gun at somebody, unlike today's "stars." [jean claude van damme just got picked up for drunk driving, as a contrast to the loss of a true talent today.]

Dr. Strangelove was on last weekend, and I spent half the movie waiting for Karl Malden's face to appear. I saw a poster years ago for 'Patton', with Scott's and Malden's names on them. And for some reason, I sat through half the film waiting for Malden to pop up, only twigging then that I'd mixed the faces up! D'oh!

Great performance in it, too.

Well, just for Sol, he played Justin Playfair in a movie called They Might Be Giants (1971). However, no recent tv series...a couple tv movies though.

I took in a movie. An appalling little piece of filth. Its leading lady was a blonde harlot who spent half the film strolling around naked as a jaybird! No, just give the Great Unwashed a pair of oversized breasts and a happy ending, and they'll oink for more every time.

What happened to the edit post button???

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see it and therefore the second post.

I would have made it They Might Be Giants (1971).

Just to make it stand out more so Sol would not miss it. He's not to observant sometimes.

George was in a movie called "Twelve Angry Men" many years ago. It's been remade a couple of times, but the original kikes @$$. The cast are all the best chacter actors of the time plus George and Henery Fonda.
Two others in the fim, right off the top o my head, E.G. Mashell, Jack Klugman.

Remember the TOS ep that had Scotty accuesed of murdering a dancer. There was a little guy working for the local law enforcemnent. He was in the movie also. D***, now I'm going to have to go find out his name.

The movie is from 1957, the actor later to appear on trek was John Fiedler, the other name actors were:
Lee J. Cobb
Ed Begley, That's Sr, not the Jr that we know.

The rest were know faces, but not so well known names.
Jack Warden
Edward Binns
George Voskovec
Robert Webber
Martin Balsom
Joseph Sweeny

Ed Begley, Sr. was an actor? You learn something new everyday.
