I played two games versus Omega today. Here is a breakdown of what happened

Game one: Protoss vs Protoss
- I was in the top middle, Omega was on the middle left
- Immediately went building 3 gateways and three pylons. Forge came later.
- Scouted out the map. Didn't find Omega in six of the seven possible places. So I guess I knew where he was.
- Created 12 zealots. Marched down to test his strength.
- Intercepted pylons being built so that cannons would be created. Bye Bye Pylons.
- 8 zealots were waiting along with the pylons. 12 to 8. You do the math.
- Omega tries in vain to create cannons to dispatch my zealots. Bye bye cannons.
- Omega folds.

Game Two: Terran (Me) vs Protoss (Omega)
- Scouting shows that Omega is in the middle left. I am in the middle right, opposite side of where Omega is.
- Sent a marine to investigate. Gets chewed up by 10 zealots. Now the thing is, that even a small number of zealots can chew up a large group of marines due to attacking power. Ouch. I start to get fearful, and expect a retaliatory attack of zealots. Immediately start building a factory to churn out tanks.
- Three factories built. Six tanks are ready. Start building starports.
- Move my troops to the middle of the map. Realize that I need observers. Build Science facility.
- Damn, he's got a lot of Photon Cannons. Time to nuke them. Get into building three more command centres, each with a nuke attached.
- Sends cloaked scouting party to investigate. Realize I have a detector by now. Bye bye scouting party. He says "Note to self, there is a detector there".
- Try to nuke his cannons but two problems: Ocular implants not researched, so nuke range is limited, and no cloak. Bye bye ghost.
- Omega sends out bunch of zealots to try to counter my tanks. But by this time, I have 12 Wraiths which cannot be attacked by zealots. Bye Bye zealots. Unfortunately, three tanks are lost. No big loss. My factories are churning out tanks a minute.
- Send out two dropships to investigate his base. One gets whacked, and the other finds a glaring hole in his defense. Mental note made.
- Tanks sent in to wipe out cannons. Wraiths and marines sent as backup. Wraiths wipe out Arbiter and Corsairs, but Omega has Templars, which he uses to severely damage my troops. Ouch.
- Batch one of Cannons eliminated. More wraiths created, and ready to march in. Tanks and wraiths move in, find significant resistance from some templars, and carriers. Much of invasion force destroyed. Fresh reinforcements created.
- Dropships created, tanks inserted into dropships. More tanks and wraiths inserted into the breach point. Ghost is able to set off one nuke and destroy some cannons. A second attempt is made to nuke his troops, unsuccessful.
- Dropships proceed to hole in Omega's defense. Dropships drop six tanks in his base, and they start firing. At same time, main force moves in to attack. Wraiths find an arbiter and subsequently destroy it, only to reveal a group of templars and dragoons. Able to wipe out dragoons, but templars manage to destroy several of my tanks and wraiths. Also under attack by several carriers.
- More wraiths drop in, and attack carriers. At this point, seeing that half his primary base destroyed, Omega decides to fold.

Omega had made a second base in the top right in which the entrance was also sealed by cannons. I also have a second base in the lower right with the three command centres all connected with nukes, as well as a science vessel with Covert-Ops to create ghosts.

It was a nice fight, especially since I am quite inexperienced with Terran. I was able to give Omega pointers for strategies. Hopefully, we will be able to have a much better game with more people.

Omega: One other thing. Try to build at least 4 gateways to produce troops. The more gateways, the better.

That was fun.

Daaaaaamn.

Those are nice "war" descriptions, Tahna. Once I get moved to my new place, you and I'll have to play a game or two. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a novice at StarCraft multiplayer -- as Omega so quickly showed me (fuckin' carriers) -- but I'm getting better ... oh, yes ...

Oh, yes, that was a fun game agaist Jeff. I sent one fully loaded carrier across the river away from his ground entrance. He says, "ONE carrier?" and starts chasing mine with two. "Crap," I says, and I run. He doesn't notice the Dark Archon that mind-controls one of his carriers. I end up with one carrier to his none, and take out his entire probe force in short order.

Thanks for the pointers, Tahna. I'll give you a run for your money next game.

Er ... Omega ... I was a Terran. I don't have any carriers ... unless you mean the troop transport? Or JeffRaven ... Hobbes, perhaps ... ?

I built up a shitload of missile turrets and ground bunkers, backed up by Siege Tanks. You waltzed in with five or six carriers and were in the process of toasting my defenses when your ISP decided to blow up.
