I was wondering if anyone could help - does anyone know where or what codec to get to play - I think this is it - "DSrip" files? I think it's a form of divx file.

Ritten... I'm not THAT lazy. I did exactly that and used a combination of search parameters. I got that first site - but the recommened download didn't help. I'm trying another one on that page - and as it happens it seems to include a codec that is like your second link.

Dude, "dsrip" isn't a codec. The "ds" part stands for digital stream, indicating that the rip was done from a DTV source. At least make an effort to learn the lingo.
