It's no weirder than someone making a model of Hogwarts out of Lego.

Crazy, but also impressive as hell- a sculptor would be hard-pressed to make such a thing from traditional sculptig materials.

Looks expensive. Personally, I don't like the traditional stuff they make cakes like that out of. So my groom's cake was make out of the soft yellow cake you get in the grocery store (with chocolate icing). Besides, we were on a budget, and we could either spend our money on something like that, or on our honeymoon. Guess which we picked. [Big Grin]

In the end, though, the only part of the cake I got to eat was the icing I swiped with my finger while we were cutting the wedding cake. For those yet to be married, if you're not going to have a sit-down dinner at your reception, I'd advise that you get a groomsman or bridesmaid to go and get you a plate of food, because you're so busy otherwise with pictures or dancing or cake cutting that you don't have time to eat until it's all gone.

Just as well- some asshole photographer always takes a pic of the bride/groom stuffing their face at big weddings.
Or you'd go and spill cake on the tux and it'd look all weird when you returned it to the funeral parlor...
Nothing gets you busted like frosting on the corpse.
