South Park's take on Cartman doing a Buck Rogers-like trip into the 25th Century...actually, the 26th Century.

God, that music takes me back. A DVD purchase (if available) may be required.

Aw, yeah! Even though it's been years since I've seen it, that intro was perfect!
BTW, I did these earlier this year (click for larger):

Nice. I wonder if I still have my toy one (with kiddie-safe bar between the prongs removed!) somewhere?

Hahaha, that's great. I just got introduced to Buck Rogers over the summer, and while I don't go out of my way to watch it, I like it. Combine with South Park and it's hilarious.

This is a picture of me in my flat during a party in May 2005. See what's on the wall behind me? THAT'S ORIGINAL, bitches! It's a promo one-sheet from Burger King from before the premiere; lists the premiere date & all, & that's not Erin Gray as Wilma Deering, but Juanin Clay, the actress who was originally cast as her. After Erin Gray was cast, Juanin appeared as Marla Landers in the "Vegas In Space" episode.

I WIN, BITCHES.

Now I need that theme song on my iPod. Dammit.

Oh, & it's available, Lee. Both seasons. (Links are to Amazon UK)

You know, "Buck Rogers" is definitely one show that would kick some serious ass as a Galactica-style reboot. Minus Twiki.

Ooh, especially if they played up the whole post-human-appocalypse, submit to Theopolis-esque AIs (benevolent?) thing. Paranoia, origin of draconians, etc. What fun!

Another idea I am toying with (along with Space 1999 (well, 2099) and a Flash Gordon series).

On the one hand, there was throwing Buck 500 years into the future, but that would have put him in the 26th Century. I figured nearly 500 would be enough, becuase I wanted him to stay in the 25th.

Him? After seeing Starbuck and Boomer get a sex change, I wondered about having a female Buck and a male William Deering. But who would call a girl Buck?

I had the concept of a mission to Mars that went horribly wrong and the 3 astronauts on this Ranger mission (the Ranger 3) were lost. Two were killed and Buck thrown into suspended animation. OK, he'd be considered dead by our standards but, by the time his orbial tomb was found in the 25th century, science could bring him back.

In the intervening years Sol system was invated by a species called the Draconians. They weren't oxygen breathers and formed a colony on one of Saturn's moons. Earth controlled the inner planets and the Draconians controlled the outer.

Thus, in a nod to the classic serials of the 20s and 30s, Buck Rogers and Earth would battle evil aliens from Saturn.

Well for starters whomever gave Starbuck her call sign.
There's a dirty joke in there somewhere, I just can't find it at the moment.
