Many science fiction shows, books, movies, etc. deal with the concept of time travel and FTL. I just read a really trippy article about why time doesn't exist and therefore neither is possible.

This is no time to be arguing about time. We don't have the time!

Of course time travel is possible. Why, as I type these very words, I am travelling forward in time at a rate of one second per second!

I didn't wake up with a headache. I just spent the last 20 minutes reading that article. I have a headache now. Does someone want to travel back in time and stop me from reading that? Please?

By the time you read that article your time will have been wasted- further driving the desire to create a time-machine, thus making the creation of said more plusable, despite the prevailing mathmatics of this backward era.

If you're traveling in a time machine, and you're eating corn on the cob, I don't think it's going to affect things one way or the other. But here's the point I'm trying to make: Corn on the cob is good, isn't it.

I'm eagerly awaiting his definition of 'motion', if it doesn't involve time.

It seems awfully close to arguing semantics. He claims there is no time, and then explains quite in an elaborate way that time = change, and that there wouldn't be time in an empty space (that means, a space without anything it). I mean.. that's just silly. If there's NOTHING, there's no time either.. the difference is purely academic, since even if there was some 'magical time arrow', you wouldn't notice it since nothing could concievably change.

But the point is that the 'passage of time' is just an evolution from one state, arrangement of mass, to another. You can't 'travel backward' in time because it's not a physical dimension. You'd have to force the entire universe into an alternate configuration matching the one at the 'time' you want to visit.

I think time was invented by cavemen and women who got tired of their little cave-brats asking "Are we there yet?"
