Well.

At the time of this writing, less than 2 hours of July 31st remains in the EST timezone, and I think its safe to say that no World Wars are being fought (with the possible exception of the one Jubes and I are involved in, that you can read about in the Officer's Lounge, but that one started LONG ago...)

So.

When's the NEXT time that the world's supposed to end (or begin to end?)

*Dings bell*

Sorry, Nostro, old pal, but your time has elapsed. Don Pardo, tell him what he didn't win!

*Pardospeak* Well, Nostradamus, you didn't win credibility for your prediction, as interpreted by loyal readers. But just so you don't go away empty-handed, you're still eligible for our "extra-vague lightning round," in which your prophecies will be re-interpreted again and again, in an attempt to glean more "secrets" from your ramblings, and discover what time you "really" meant.

Thank you, Don! Now, who's our next contestant? Mr. Cayce? Miss Dixon?

... of course, someone WILL send me email if WW III begins in the next 110 minutes, right?

There's this nutter here who's calculated that 11 days have been added to the calendar since the time of Nostradamus, and therefore 11 days after the last possible day of July is August 11th - the day of the total eclip0se here. . .

I don't know. October 4th, 1999 at 4:27 AM. Just a guess, but it's probably as accurate as a Nostradamus.

Hey everyone, the world's gonna end on the 14th of July!

Wait, it didn't. Hmm...

Okay, I got it! It's gonna end sometime in the rest of the month of July!

Wrong again...Strange...

(etc etc)

There is nothing "strange" or "supernatural" about this so-called prediction falling onto the day of the eclipse. How long ago was this "extra eleven days" thing announced? When was this eclipse date given?

But not in darkness.

You know, I know where this nutter will be on the 11th. Unfortunately I'll be at the other end of the country, else I'd personally see to it that his world ends. . .

The fools will find some way of explaining to us why it didn't happen, when it will, and will then get angry at us for not believing.

*Dares show his face in here*
Well, y'see, if one were to interpret Nostradamus' prediction (the MONTH) as an astrological month, rather than a literal month, the month would be September '99 and not July '99. Ya didn't believe me before and you SURE as hell won't believe me now *LOL@self!* But that's my post anyway.
