Saturday was just like any other. Left the house about 7 ish and went out with friends to kill another surburban evening. We had a good time, as usual. Unfortunately, as we were enjoying ourselves with a late night game of pool after dinner, another of our friends got wiped out in a car accident, stone cold dead. We found out late Sunday evening - I got an ICQ from a mate, we're talking about it now.

Jeez, life can suck.

Very sorry to hear that, Daryus.

None of my friends have ever been close to a brush with death. That is very scary, to me.........

The first summer after I graduated from High School, I worked for a month at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The employee turnover was so fast, if you lasted one week, you were considered an "old hand".

During my second week, they hired a guy I immediately hit it off with. We were both motorheads, we rode motorcycles, and we had wierd senses of humor.

I came into work the next day looking forward to working with my new friend. He wasn't there. I asked the boss and he told me that less than an hour after he left work the previous night, he was struck by a car that ran a stopsign and killed.

Damn.
