Who's God's Candidate?

Slate tries to figure it out.

All I can say, is after reading this, I'm now almost certain to vote for McCain.

I was talking with someone on ICQ the other day when my on-line friend made the following remark:

quote:
I've been doing some research on the candidates and it looks as if Bush is my man, I beleive that he is the only one that could beat McCain since he was involved in the failed Saving and Loan scandeles and the Keating 5 which the media has yet to divoulge.

I haven't really been keeping up with the news lately, but I suspect that if the media favored one party over another, one of their tactics would be to keep mum on the liabilities of the candidate they had the biggest can of worms on.

That way, (possibly) that candidate would win the primaries and become the opposition's candidate. Then they could open their mouths and start telling everyone about his feet of clay, swaying people to either vote for their candidate, or persuading a lot of people that there was no point in voting anyway, since their candidate is a slug, and they don't want to vote for the other guy, either.

I'm not big on conspiracy theories, but I have noticed a mass-media bias towards the Democratic party. No wonder so many people who could vote do not. I'll still vote, if only to vote against the guy I think will do the worst job.

Everybody has their scandals...

except me, of course.

First of Two in 2008!
No skeletons in the closet (except the ones that were already there)
No bodies buried (where anyone can find them)
A total outsider to Politics (being VP of the Monty Python Society and Comedy Club in college is as close as I get)

Fiscally and constitutionally conservative, socially moderate liberal (Which means I want to cut taxes, believe in the First AND Second amendments, think gay folks should be allowed to get married, and hate cosmetics testing on animals.

But if the animals don't get to use lipstick and eyeshadow, who'll ask them out for the Prom?

Yup, no agenda there.

I recently read an article on McCain's involvement with the Keating 5. It doesn't look like it could be a major issue as he has admitted he made mistakes to the media and divulged his involvement completly. Much in the way he prevented his divorce and adultery from becoming an issue.
