Missing girl found dead
A city mourns a horrible loss

From the townhouse complex I live in, turn left to go east on Timberbank. Then you go north on Birchmount to Finch, then hang a left on Finch to go west. Drive west for about 5 minutes and you will pass Highway 404. On your right is Seneca College. On your left is a set of houses. One of these houses is where a young girl was kidnapped from the safety of her own bedroom last October 20.

She was found dead over the weekend. The badly decomposed remains suggest she was dead for over a while. The snowstorms that hit the area during the winter provided the perfect cover for this horrendous crime.

A five minute drive. That's how hard it hits home.

Many a time I have passed by this area to do my usual errands and stuff. Yesterday, for some reason, I found it hard to simply drive by, so I took a quick detour, and went to the house where the bereaved parents live. Already there was a makeshift shrine for the girl where people have already dropped off flowers and toys in rememberance of this girl I never knew. I dropped off a toy bunny and a condolence card, stayed there for a few seconds, then left.

What really steams me up is what I found out the next day:
A really sick prank

Really Sick bastards, I tell you. If anything, some people are saying that these people are just as guilty as the people who kidnapped and killed her in the first place. I am tempted to agree....

Rest in Peace, Cecilia....

In the US, the extortionists would actually have had to retail the laywer prior to making the extortion offer for client/lawyer confidentiality to be employed.
How is it that this lawyer is allowing himself to be accomplice to a crime?

I bet police are taking a hard look at this Danson lawyer (as to weither there really is a client at all).

People sure are fuckers arent they?

Danson is a well known lawyer. He has represented people such as the families of the victims of Paul Bernardo, of many years ago, clamouring for justice and blah blah blah. Though his involvement in this case makes it a bit suspect.

So why don't they just nab this intermediary fuck and lean on him for answers about Danson's part in all this?

I don't think Danson is even allowed to give the name of that person due to Attourney-Client privelege.

No: If he's acting as a "go between", he's aiding in extortion.
Client Confidentiality prevents him from disclosing evidence against his clients- his delivering messages and acting as a go-between for extortionists is active participation in a crime.

If nothing else, it should lead to a bar ethics review of his licence to practice.

It depends on the country, I guess.

But Danson says he found out that the pictures were digitally altered.

I will say that the laws dictating Attouney-Client privelege may be different up here compared to down in the states.

It definitely sounds like a strange case.

A better question would be "why would Danson accept such a case in the first place?"
