Holy cow! Star Trek gets meta with its tomfoolery!

"'How can I write a review blasting the show's writers for ignoring continuity if I can't read a paraphrased synopsis of what's going to happen?' said Stacey Ellen-Sarah, the site's regular reviewer. 'What am I supposed to do, just watch it and give my honest reaction? Spare me.'"

The story revolves around a main character either from Deep Space Nine, Voyager, or an Activision Star Trek game, depending on salary implications. "Sure, we would love to get Patrick Stewart or any of the other TNG cast," the source said. "But we're just not sure we can afford them right now so we're looking at the other shows. We're talking to Morn, we're talking to Icheb, we'll find someone."
I have just a little less hate for startrek.com now [Big Grin] this is good stuff

They only had the first four up earlier today, and though they were pretty funny, the latest two take the cake.

Oh, great God of the Lightsabres:

quote:
The votes are in, and fans in the state of Florida have selected "Spock's Brain" as their all-time favorite Star Trek episode.

The Original Series classic was chosen in a special on-line poll. Runners-up included the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Shades of Gray," Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's "Meridian," and Star Trek: Voyager's "The Q and the Grey."

In a separate survey, "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" was picked as the Sunshine State's favorite movie.

The tallies have been declared official despite some controversy that the "bird-of-prey"-style ballot used in the polling led to confusion among voters. "The episode titles were spread all over the page, and the radio buttons didn't even line up properly," said one fan. "I meant to vote for '11001001,' but I think I voted for '11:59' instead!"

I cannot stop laughing at this! [Big Grin]

Must've been a narrow margin between "The Q and the Gray" and "Tuvix" and "Threshold". :-)

Since this is already turning into a thread about awful episodes...

"Tuvix" is actually well-regarded by enough people as an interesting moral dillemma and interesting character work for Janeway. And I've never had huge issues w/Force of Nature.

From the Spoiler-Free Opinion Summary, the booby-list (<4.5/10)
TOS:
The Alternative Factor 4.3
The Omega Glory 4.0
The Way to Eden 3.4
And the Children Shall Lead 3.3
Spock's Brain 3.1
TNG:
Code of Honor 4.4
Shades of Gray 3.5
DS9
Let He Who Is Without Sin... 4.2
Profit and Lace 4.0
Meridian 3.9
VGR:
Rise 4.4
Vis A Vis 4.4
Elogium 4.1
Demon 4.0
Disease 3.6
Favorite Son 3.4
Spirit Folk 3.3
Threshold 3.2
The Fight 3.0

(Force of Nature clocks in at a pseudo-respectable 5.5, Q and the Gray at 6.2, and Tuvix at a downright acceptable 6.9)

Mr. Rock appeared in Tsunkatse, which wasn't on the list. "The Fight" is Chakotay as a boxer. Awful stuff.

I mostly agree, but I seem to remember rather liking "Disease," which is odd, because I'm really just a sheep.

Online fans at WeKnowTrekBest.com are so upset that they can't get their hands on a script or spoilers for the next episode of Enterprise that they won't be watching it when it airs, planning to tape it and watch it an hour later in protest.

TOS:
The Alternative Factor 4.3
meh
The Omega Glory 4.0
I saw it recently - wasn't THAT bad...

The Way to Eden 3.4
only seen part
And the Children Shall Lead 3.3
only seen part
Spock's Brain 3.1
only seen part - but looks funny!

TNG:
Code of Honor 4.4
Shades of Gray 3.5
OH YES these two are B-A-D... You could probably add "Too Short a Season", and "Imaginary Friend". (and "Sub Rosa"... wasn't that great)

DS9
Let He Who Is Without Sin... 4.2
Not fantastic but not great either

Profit and Lace 4.0

Funny as... I just don't think 'Americans' "got it". Laughed my arse off.

Meridian 3.9

Yup stinker... Jeffery Coombs wasted.

You HAVE to add "The Muse" - it's WOEFUL... oh and add "Rivals". Let he... and P&L are better than these episodes. Season two was going great guns up until "Rivals". Then it picks back up again. Season two is the most underrated season - probably my favourite DS9 season. Season 2 and Season 3 are the best seasons - with the two worst episodes.

VGR:
Rise 4.4

There are worse.

Vis A Vis 4.4
Bleh!
Elogium 4.1
meh. Getting bad.

Demon 4.0
There are worse... didn't go anywhere - mediocre - GREATEST FOLLOW-UP though.
Disease 3.6
Hey, that was a GOOD episode... a strong Harry ep - fantastic looking alien woman... cool effect of that ship breaking up - and it gave us the on-going harry joke.
Favorite Son 3.4

WOAH - This one is one of the WORST - shit-city.

Spirit Folk 3.3

Too badly beaten up... not THAT bad an episode. (There are worse).

Threshold 3.2
That and Favourite Son - are the worst two Voyager eps... GIANT SALAMANDERS!?! What were they THINKING!?!

The Fight 3.0

Not good... went nowhere.

Everyone has forgotten the most POINTLESS go-no-where heap of shite (apart from Threshold and Fave Son...

"Repression"! CRAP.

Season 3 had some duds... as listed plus... Alter Ego - HOW FUCKING BORING! Oh and "great" redress of the Kazon sets... not.

"Mr. Rock appeared in Tsunkatse, which wasn't on the list."

And I demand justice be served!

But I will agree that, even if "The Fight" wasn't the episode I thought it was, it deserves to be on there. But probably not absolute last...
