From the "This can't possibly be real because it is on Slashdot on April 1st" department comes this Star Trek link.

http://slashdot.org/articles/02/04/01/1813245.shtml?tid=129

It is an April Fools joke, done by the infamous Commander Taco... That character done a lot of good April Fools stories!

But, just out of curiousity... if this news was broken on any other day... and it was a joke, what is the possibility that it would succeed?

It originated at wilwheaton.net, actually. But cute, nonetheless.
