I was just rereading my April issue of ST:TMG and it's letters colums it delt with some continuity. Their response was '...at the end of the day, does it really matter?' Now we know why NX01 is the Akira, or why Vulcans are emotional, or why the Xrilliyans (or whatever) have state of the art holodeck or why we saw a K'Vort. I can see the promo for the First episode of season 2:

On a shuttlepod mission Archer, T'pol and Reed come in contact with a Cardassian Galor class and ecapse back to the Enterprise. Tune in to an all new Enterprise at 8:00, 7:00 central.
