I've just spent several hours on a wild goose chase trying to get this done myself, I shan't bore you with the details but suffice to say that whatever combination of software & settings I use my computer simply refuses to let me capture off of a DVD.
So if anyone out there with a more cooperative computer with DVD capture capabilities and a copy of TMP:DE, I'd be grateful if you could do me a small favour.
The frame is 1 hour 27 minutes & 24 seconds in, it should be the scene where Spock pinches the bloke in the airlock room, I'm after a closer look at that silvery door on the far left of the screen.

Wow, that first screen looks like a screenshot from some new computer game. Is this one of the "new" scenes, where Spock gets hold of the EVA-suit?

That scene was always in TMP...at least in the 11 min longer version. The drawing of the airlock room by Shane Johnson in "Scott's Guide" is quite accurate to set.

It was in the theatrical version as well. The shot that was added to the film for the ABC tv showings in the early 80s was the one where McCoy watches Kirk suit up to chase him (in what was orginally intended to lead into the "Memory Wall" sequence).

I never fail to be amazed hat they put the shot where the entire scaffolding is visible outside the airlock into so many versions of the film. I wonder whose idea that was?

The scaffolding shot was only in the ABC TV and Special Longer versions of the film. It wasn't in the original theatrical release, the reissued original cut, or (thankfully) the DE.
Back to the photos: the sign on the wall above the console appears in the TMP Peel Off Graphics Book. Ironically, it's not the instructions for the airlock, but for the lift used to exit the ship and approach V'ger.

It also looks like the spacesuits are the originals, not the ones in the redone sequence when the Memory Wall sequence.

I just looked at the TMP DE again, and looked at the cut bit in the airlock staging area with Kirk and McCoy, and in looking at it it's obvious that the room really isn't as portrayed in Mr. Scott's Guide, which shows the big circular airlock hatches directly opposite the corridor.
In the film, the wall opposite the spacesuits is tilted outward the same way as the suit locker wall is, mirroring it. There's also a big bench directly across from the corridor (presumably for sitting on while suiting up).
The way MSG shows the set isn't consistent with what's shown in the film footage. In the Kirk scenes, he steps through the door next to where Spock neckpinched the guy, then emerges from the big round hatch, so the former is clearly supposed to lead to the latter. MSG puts the round hatch where the bench is.
I noticed that MSG layout for this area is consistent with the TMP-era cutaway poster, which is equally wrong about the set layout.
I suspect this was a set that was torn down immediately after the scenes were shot. Shane, what references were you given for this room?
