About two months ago, I posted images of the personnel files from "Eye of the Beholder" to confirm the names of the ships in those files that others had mentioned in the past. However, TSN (and probably others) said that the lettering of the Beaver looked a bit odd, especially since there appeared to be an extra character before the E.

This image shows Kwan's file (with the ship in question). It has better contrast than the one I originally posted. Notice the last letter...it's not a badly formed R; it actually looks like a W. And there does appear to be an I right before the E. In addition, look at what we thought was a B...it doesn't quite look like the B in "Pueblo" right below it. In fact, it looks more like...the S in Enterprise! Aha...the name of this ship is actually Seaview, a perfectly good name for a starship! (Er, I mean, if it's around watery planets a lot.

He's from Psi Upsilon 3 - and there seems to be a Starfleet Academy there too, that adds evidence to my speculation that San Fran is not the only place where there is a SFA campus.

Well, I find it hard to believe that every cadet in the Federation could be packed into the area near the Presidio, anyway.

Definitely Seaview.

Damnation. I've been trying to find a way to work in the Pop Will Eat Itself song "Beaver Patrol" for AGES. . .

Still, Seaview is a name with a good SF pedigree, being the name of the submarine in "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea." I've been wondering whether the erstwhile character named Kowalski in "Stargate SG-1" is named after the accident-prone sailor from "VTBOTS." 8)

Oh, the heck with it! }B)

[s]"Attention young ladies, attention young ladies!" (x2)

My favourite way of getting kicks
I go down town, I hustle chicks - Beaver Patrol! (Beaver Patrol!)
A Rolls Royce, a limousine
The girls all groove for my machine - Beaver Patrol! (Beaver Patrol!)
[s]"Huh-uh-huh-uh.."
I cruise the drive-ins of this town
Not once has a girl shot me down - Beaver Patrol! (Beaver Patrol!)
One good thing that's on my side
It's a big bad car, it's out of sight - Beaver Patrol!

[CHORUS]
Beaver Patrol (Cruisin' on the beaver patrol, I love that beaver)
Beaver Patrol (Cruisin' on the beaver patrol, I love it, love it, love it)
Beaver Patrol (Cruisin' on the beaver patrol, I love that beaver)
Beaver Patrol (Cruisin' on the beaver patrol, I love it, love it, love it)

Give me some more, give me some more

The Beaver Patrol sees lots of action
Oh I do love that satisfaction - Beaver Patrol! (Beaver Patrol!)
In this game, you don't need muscle
All you gotta do is hustle - Beaver Patrol!

[CHORUS]

I pull in the drive, I shut off the key
I say to the girl "Will you sit by me?"
I say to her "Darlin' what's your name"
I say to myself I'm proud I came
She's trying to make me happy with all her might
But all you gotta do honey is make me feel alright

My favourite way of getting kicks
I go down town, I hustle chicks - Beaver Patrol! (Beaver Patrol!)
One good thing that's on my side
It's a big bad car, it's out of sight - Beaver Patrol!

[CHORUS] (x2)

[s]"How do you keep your wheels spinning when the Beaver's grinning eh?"
[s]"I'm out

He went to Starfleet Academy on Psi Upsilon 3, but was born on Psi Upsilon 4. Also note the rank listed at the top says Lieutenant, but his picture shows his pips are Lieutenant (Junior Grade)

Well, that could just mean that the file has ben updated, but not the picture. The question is, what insignia did he wear in the show?

Someone sent me an e-mail a few months back stating that the name Beaver might be Seaview, I guess he was right.
