Looking through my list of Federation ships, I have a few questions.

  • Is there any evidence that NCC-63646 is not a misread Thunderchild Registry, and an actual number? Does the DVD give a clearer image?

  • Are there any Ambassadors numbers that are under dispute? Like the Zhukov and modelling mistakes?

  • Is NCC-73918 the number for the Unnamed Danube that was seen in an episode of DS9?

  • The supposed Excelsior with NCC-40273 is simply a misreading of a display, and not a real ship, correct?

  • The Bogue comes from where? Is it NCC-70915?

  • USS Oberth, NCC-602, Where did this originate? ST:IV?

  • What is the Ramans correct number?

  • Is the Sydney class Nash canon?

  • I have an entry for a nameless, classless ship with the number NCC-71325. Where is this from? The Shuttle from 'Caretaker'?

  • Is it the Beaver or Seaview?

  • " " " Strain " Strata?

  • Where is the Trial from?

I know some of these...

1. It's the Seaview. It was listed on a display on an incredibly unclear vidcap, but that's the name of the ship.

2. It's the Strata. Same not as above, but since this was listed as a terraforming vessel, the name "Strata" was an inside joke.

3. The Nash is semi-canon. The ship was seen in DS9 as a redress of the NCC-2010 Jenolan, but the name and registry number couldn't be seen, which is good because it was NCC-2010-A!

I think it was 2010-B, and that alone f*cks everything up, so I wasn't sure where it stood.

So it's the Seaview and Strata.

The Bogue is the MiaB-Nebula-class-ship. The name is taken from the Ships of the Line-calendar 2001.

Here's the www.startrek.com entry for the Trial:

USS Trial

Starship seen at DS9 during the Klingon invasion of Cardassia.

Reference:

AFAIK is the Oberth from a ST6-display.

Is there any evidence that NCC-63646 is not a misread Thunderchild Registry, and an actual number?
Does the DVD give a clearer image?
No evidence. NCC-63549 is correct and is confirmed by the Encyclopedias.

Are there any Ambassadors numbers that are under dispute? Like the Zhukov and modelling mistakes?
No other Ambassadors other than the Zhukov.

Is NCC-73918 the number for the Unnamed Danube that was seen in an episode of DS9?
Possibly...some one else answer this.

The supposed Excelsior with NCC-40273 is simply a misreading of a display, and not a real ship,
correct?
Most likely a misreading of a display and not a registry number.

The Bogue comes from where? Is it NCC-70915?
"Message in a Bottle" Registry seen in episode with name confirmed in Ships of the Line calendar. Registry also confirmed in calendar.

USS Oberth, NCC-602, Where did this originate? ST:IV?
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Either on status display on the Enterprise or the Operation Retreive chart.

What is the Ramans correct number?
Probably the 20000 number, whatever it was.

Is the Sydney class Nash canon?
Semi-canon. May have been seen on the upside-down Sydneys at DS9.

I have an entry for a nameless, classless ship with the number NCC-71325. Where is this from? The
Shuttle from 'Caretaker'?
Yes. Name unknown.

Is it the Beaver or Seaview?
Seaview

" " " Strain " Strata?
Strata

Where is the Trial from?
Way of the Warrior. Though the name originates from the official Star Trek website.

The Danube Class runabout NCC-73918 is seen clearly in "Tacking onto the Wind". This ship has no name.

According to one individual, the ships from Star Trek Vi, aside from the USS Enterprise and the USS Excelsior, are given no class information in the movie. Speculation is the USS Oberth is an Oberth Class ship. USS Eagle and USS Endeavor are identified by the encyclopedia to be Constitution Class.

Ultra Magnus, add to your list the Oberth Class starship from "The Drumhead". This has a registry of NCC-8000. TNG Companion identified ship as USS Cochrane. You can either list with the registry or the name and registry. This depends on wheter you accept the encyclopedia's say on the USS Cochrane. I do not so I list the name and registry, and ignore the other USS Cochrane.

USS Raman's registry is NCC-29487. Initially, this starship was to have been of another class.

The last is a take it or leave it. I know of another Oberth Class starship-the USS Valiant. She has a registry of NCC-20000. From watching a documentary, I know this ship to have been used by ILM. ILM did special effects for Generations where an Oberth Class starship is seen. So I speculate that this ship in the film is the USS Valiant NCC-20000. Unfortunately, I know of no means of confirming this fact. (And, a nit, when I asked for help on this forum on how to write to ILM, I got no answers from the members who argued about the existence of the ship and other matters. So at this point, I am not proceeding on asking ILM. If I asked ILM, shouldn't I appear to be a decent individual who is interested in movies and models, not a starship obsessed fan of Star Trek?)

Targetemployee: What exactly did you want to ask ILM about concerning the ship, other than if it was the same ship as the one in Generations?
