Does anyone know where i can find a nice scan of the USS Excelsior schematic from the Star Trek Fact Files ? I've been looking for it but the only one i can find is the one of the Ent-B

There is no nice scan because there is no nice schematic. I preferred not to scan it because it is a bit crude and also has completely different colors than that of the E-B from the FF.

Mmmm...could we perhaps see it anyway? Y'know, Bernd, I'm not trying to be rude when I say this, but I really hate those pastel colors on your Exclesior drawings. What happened to the nice blue-grey metallic looking scheme from the Encyclopedia, etc?

In fact Bernd, while the quality of your schematics are really high and I love them, why are the Enterprise (hi Mim!) and Excelsior classes white? I always thought they were gray.

In spite of your partially faulty terminology, Red BWC, your complaint is the same as mine. [Razz]

Well spotted.

If anyone thinks they can do better than Bernd's images, then they're welcome to try.

Besides I'm pretty sure those schematics were submitted by someone else.

The studio models are white. OK, they're very, very, very light gray.

Actually, I think the movie Enterprise model was repainted just about every film. It's cleary a very pearlescent white in TMP, but it gets slightly darker over the next two, it look sbeige in TVH, gray in TFF, and grayey-blue in TUC.

Yes, you're despicable, and... and picable... and... and you're definitely, definitely despicable. How a person can get so despicable in one lifetime is beyond me. It isn't as though I haven't met a lot of people. Goodness knows it isn't that. It isn't just that... it isn't... it's... it's despicable.

the problem i have with those schematics is that the rest are line drawings that are colored in, while the EAS Excelsiors presented seem to be simply shaded bit paintings.. rest assured, you guys will be impressed when you see what I'm photoshopping on my day off next week.... [Big Grin]

You've got that backwards, IIRC. It was a metallic silver color in TMP, and got lighter as the movies went on.

it was not "metallic silver" in TMP. it was a mixture of many colors, and "pealescent" is probably the best way to describe it. but not pealescent white, as there was no white foundation to the color. it was then painted a solid color for TWoK because the reflection from the pealescent paintjob made it difficult to make composite shots of the Enterprise.
