Okay, I know everyone is creating their own alien race these days, but I'm still making my kitbash series. That and I can't think of any new creatively original species.
I call it the Explorer-class and it's the second in my set of ships, I hope you like it.

You'll need to right-click and view image thanks to Tripod.

Class: Explorer
Type: Deep-space explorer
Ships of class:
USS Explorer NX-76135
Length: 280 meters
Height: 110 meters
Beam: 32 meters
Accommodation: 300 officers and crew
Mass: 720,000 metric tons
Maximum warp speed: 9.95
Tactical systems:
4 photon/quantum torpedo launchers
7 type-8 phaser arrays
2 Pulse phaser cannons

The Explorer-class is an offshoot of Starfleet's older Miranda-class, with a greater capacity for science, exploratory, and defensive mission profiles. With the heavy use of the Miranda-class during the Dominion war Starfleet wanted a ship that could do everything the Miranda could and more.

Features on the Explorer-class include two extra nacelles for deep-space missions. On the sides of the saucer are replaceable sensor pods. A new smaller secondary hull was built underneath the saucer to include a larger more powerful navigational deflector array, more crew and crew quarters, ship systems, and a shuttlebay.

The Explorer-class is one of the first modern replacements for the aging Miranda-class and currently the ASDB is interested in phasing out the Miranda-class with this ship class with a projected time table of eight to ten years.

Is it just me, or does the deflector dish seem to run into the bottom of the saucer? That wouldn't do any good, would it?

Hmm. Could you move the nacelles to be aligned with each other? I hope there are four nacelles

Explorer class? I wonder why Frank has not yet commented on this name

Well, there's a ship called Explorer there, so Explorer-class works.

Okay, I found the problem. It is, Tripod and Lycos. If the image doesn't show up, right-click it and go to view image (on Netscape, I'm not sure about IE). You'll then get a page of crap and the link to view the image, just click the link. I can't believe Tripod unleashed this load of BS.

Yeah well they didn't use to be like that. This is very recent. Suppose for the next ship I'll create a page for it.
