Myself a big fan of Highlander, I'm curious to rummage through other forumites' opinions of what are their favorite Highlander episodes ...

For me, the fourth-season premiere "Homeland" tops the list. The only ep filmed in Scotland, it captures the spirit of the series, especially Mary MacLeod's line as she hands the MacLeod claymore to Duncan: "Let no man tell you different: you are Duncan MacLeod, of the Clan MacLeod."

"Band of Brothers" from the first season is also a favorite of mine. Not only for introducing Darius, but also for giving us an enemy believable enough to have the skill to defeat Mac. I think this episode was the first time that Highlander found its pace ...

I loved both "Prodigal Son" and "Legacy" from the second season. The first had a great story, some great comedy from Richie, and of course, great swordplay on the part of Adrian Paul and K'Immie of the week Martin Hyde. "Legacy", of course, brought back Amanda, showed us (briefly) another hot Immortal woman Rebecca, and a great villain, Luther.

The third season -- wow! Just about the whole season was excellent! (Er -- aside for the Dr. Lindsey stuff...) The Kalas arc, bringing back Fitz (even if only so he could lose his head) ...

The Samurai, The Revolutionary, Cross of St. Antoine, Rite of Passage, Courage, Obsession, Shadows, Blackmail, They Also Serve, Blind Faith, Song of the Executioner, Star-Crossed, Methos, Finale 1 & 2 ...

Amazing stuff!!!!

Season IV also has the excellent Dark Quickening two parter Something Wicked and Deliverance, not to mention the macabe Chivalry ...

Season V ... wow! Who can forget the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in Comes A Horseman and Revelations 6:8 ... ?

Or the James Bond nod in Ransom of Richard Redstone, or the truly excellent Forgive Us Our Trespasses ... now THAT was an example of excellent writing on the part of the staff ...

The sixth season completely sucked. Well, the show itself sucked starting with Archangel. That might just be me.

::Shrug::

Wow! Good stuff!

This is a bit like a thread entitled "Best Spinal Infections" or "Favorite Items Found Stuck In My Eye."

I kid movie spinoffs, but it doesn't mean I don't love. Anyway, the show, here, was broadcast at midnight, concurrently with such other top notch fair as VIP(!), Baywatch Nights(the paranormal edition), and...Team Knight Rider! So, as you can see, I had a full plate. They show Raven on the Sci-Fi Channel, though, I think.

The Raven wasn't all that good ...

Highlander: The Series, tho, actually was very well written, acted, and the sword-fights -- !

I can't think of many episodes themselves but many scenes, especially with Fitz, and I agree, Endgame should be like the "nightmare" coverup that some wanted Alien 3 to be.
