At the recent V-Con here in Vancouver, BC, a friend stated that Spider Robinson referred to a lost Heinlein novel - the original concept for "Beyond this Horizon" was due to be released.

He also stated that the 'removed' sections from "Time Enough For Love" - which I always assumed was a literary device of Heinlein's (to show how long a 2000+ man's memoirs would be) may actually exist.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Although he has many unpublished, unfinished, or out of print works, both SF and mainstream, I think "Beyond this Horizon" was about the only SF novel of his that was out of print for a while.

To be sure, there may be full length "un edited" versions of some works, many of Mr.Heinlein's early work was published by "juvenile" outlets, and the editors worked him over often. "Grumbles from the Grave" and "Requeim" give many insights into this, and are must reads for the Heinlein fan who wants to grok in the fullest.

While I welcome any restored or unseen work from the grand master, I hope that we never see his unfinished works tarted up and finished by new writers. I think of how L.Sprage DeCamp robbed the graves of Robert Howard and H.P. Lovecraft by ghostwriting a lot of their unfinshed works.
