That show was brilliant, I've been watching a lot of it lately. It is so much better than the Simpsons is now... and you don't have to be a friggin' sci-fi fan to love it. Sure it's set 1000 years in the future... you didn't have to be a History major to like Blackadder.

That is a weird set of statements.

Anyway, some facts, good and maybe less good.

1.) Due to the success of DVD sales, FOX is considering returning Family Guy to production.

2.) Futurama has had OK DVD sales, I think, and gets really good ratings (for basic cable) on Cartoon Network.

3.) Futurama is much more expensive to make than Family Guy, or most American animation in general, I believe.

4.) FOX has gone crazy with greenlighting odd projects spawned from doomed TV shows, though. I mean, Firefly: The Motion Picture? Awesome, but, zuh?

I think they'll at least do the "Futurama Season 4 DVD", the last batch. That much they can do.

You can hear David X Cohen and Matt Groening joking about the management's decision to pull the plug in one or two of the Season 3 DVD episode commentaries.

I so love the show though. It's got the bizzare-like qualities and the heart to go with it of Simpsons season 3-->7.

As for the comments above - one of the main reasons people say Futurama doesn't work is that you have to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy it... that is nonsense...

I can't get "a href" with a link on a word to work. It combines the URL link with flare.solareclipse.net

[Smile]

P.S. Are the DVD's worth getting? What extras do they have on them?

Well, the usual, deleted scenes, artwork, commentaries.

The commentaries are pretty much the only worthwhile feature, but they are quite entertaining and informative. The pretty much got everyone, Cohen, Groening (sp?), the voice actor for Bender, the voice actor for (Fry, the Professer, Zapp, and Zoidberg), the music guy, art directors, etc....although the Leela's voice actor is oddly missing.

Its worthwhile here for $30, only $10 more than an average DVD.

Katey Segal was arguably the biggest-name star they had on Futurama - the reset were either professional voice actors or secondary talent. She was probably too busy.

What, like the one that's already there?

Or, rather, like the one that was there, and which you apparently removed while I was reading the thread.

There was a link there - but I want the word/sentence to be the link.
