A long time ago I read a story about a neanderthal.
If I remember right, his name was something like Hgwooh and he thought of the cro magnons as "talkers."
If someone could tell me the name of the story, author, or where I could find it, I'd really appreciate it.

I remember seeing a book that involved contact with a parellel dimension where Neanderthals became the dominant hominids on Earth... Is this the same story?

It was a short story only. It might have been the last neanderethal and the cro magnons were unfriendly to him.
