Yep, I have been spending a lot of time casing Cecil Adams' site. What of it?

After all, I found THIS!

Although others invented the smiley, I claim to have perfected it (in conjunction with RW, of course)!

I present the evidence below:

Elvis =
Technically, Elvis isn't a smiley, But I like the look.

Blinky =

Brow =

Grin =

Razzberry =

Razzanim =

Yuckanim =

Smile =

Laugh =

BearLaugh =

Tacogrin =

BunnyGrin =

BunnyShock =

Sadbunn =

Sadbunn1 =

Wink =

Winky =

Wow =

FroGrin =

The following smileys are courtesy of RW himself! He has more, but the ones shown here are the only ones I put on my site. He has a really good one of Kirk that you don't see here.

Confused =

Geordi =

Goofy =

Lol =

Worf =

BorgLaff =

GILaff =

I still don't understand what you did to my Razzanim to make the spittle go all funky...

And, just for good measure, my Pukey (unanimated)...

Argh! The transparency! I thought I had that fixed!

I suppose it must be the way my paint program revises the pallette when I reduce the colors from 16 million (or therabouts) to 256. I'm tired of chasing that gremlin and leave it to you. I will leave the %$#@ thing the way it is.

I was driving on the freeway last week and was passed by a van with several rows of smiley stickers, each one different, in various colors, some wearing hats, glasses, beards, etc.

I remember back in the 70's, way back in the ancient times when gas stations used to have little give-away items if you bought more than a set minimum. We got a whole stack of brown paper lunch bags with "Have A Nice Day" on them.

Never dreamed then that the little things would come back a quarter century later like so many bad pennies.

Jubilee: Thanks for the offer, but I seem to be finding plenty of obscure triviata without any assistance whatsoever.

Rest assured, if I ever decide to recruit an assistant, you will be the first person I contact.

There exists a poster or two of "Have a *blank* Day" smilies, with very creative smilies.

including
Have an assimilated day (borged smiley)
Have an assassinated day (smiley with bullethole)
Have a RHPS Day (smiley as Frank N Furter)
Have a Transcendental Day (smiley with 3rd eye)
etc, etc,

I might suggest using that as a reference tool.

That is, if anybody knows what I'm talking about.

First of Two, I own the Have a Day and Have a Night posters. They're hanging on my dorm room wall. They're pretty funny...

*has seen First of Two's poster*

There must be a hundred or so on it, by the way. And some are absolutely hilarious.

I've made a slight improvement:

And I found that I have a transparency-corrected version of the razzanim:

Which is a good thing. Because, in attempting to fix the other one, I made it worse than Baloo's version:

Baloo: Of course. Anyone can use my smileys. Hopefully, they'll get incorporated into the Forums when/if yours do... :-)

Weyoun: A Vorta, eh? Hm... I'll have to look into that... :-)
Oh, and I'm using Paint Shop Pro and its Animation Shop. I don't know about everyone else...

Cost? Er... Um... *runs away*

Anyway, here's my start on a Vorta smiley, based off the RW Confused smiley. Unfortunately, I can't get the eys right, so he/she/it is blind for the time being...
