I leave for school on Thursday. I have been packing for some time now, which is why I haven't posted lately. Once I get settled down and have my PC set up I will get back here as soon as possible. I will change all my preferences and stuff once I get there.

I hope I am not blocked out of here, but oh well...?

Don't know why you would be blocked.

Kosh: Well, by the school's server.

Good luck, Bryce! (I would say "G'luck!" but that just sounds weird. )

I dunno how the server would pick and choose, but since it's a Christian school they may block me out of a lot. (I dunno anything about the web access) I will have ICQ and AOL up so you guys can always get in touch with me.

I should have thought of that, I keep waiting for the admin here at work to catch up with me. I was warned once to lay low for a couple of weeks, but most of my friends have moved on to other jobs.

I got here! There is a firewall up, but that doesn't matter. I can't install AOL or ICQ because I don't know the Proxy codes! I have to find help or call I/S on Monday. See ya!

That incident...

*wasted sooooo many hours of homework time on RB*

Our Microsoft Feces Flinger picks on a lot of things... a lot of outward-moving Java, IRC, ICQ... AOLIM apparently can be made work through it, though I don't care to exploit that loophole much.

I have a worm on the inside, though, and things might improve this year..

I guess it's time to pray for the end of the firewall?

"Te Profundus Clammo, Ad Te Domine" ... Out of the Depths I Cry, To You, Oh Lord ... ....

Anyways... I had the same problem with my Catholic College... they had this huge firewall up and ICQ BARELY worked. It was a pain in the ARSE, and now it's worse in the computer lab, because they don't have any sort of AOL or anything. I had to use the java pop-up Yahoo pager for awhile. I can only thank my lucky stars that they have no such precautions with the net hook-ups in the dorms. *crosses her fingers*

Guys, the Firewall just blocks Playboy.com and crap!

AIM is installed on our cps, they are pretty cool. I love it here.

The network keeps track of where we have been and if we hit a firewall too often they make us go to Student Development for counseling! -LOL-

That's just absurd.

"WHY did you go to those forums so often, (insert RL name here), why??"
"Err... I like the people?"
"But didn't you know that that place is run by a cult-like Cappsian and his flock of merry sheep?.. It MUST be evil! If you continue to go there, we're going to have to speak to God directly about it."

*LOL* *Joking, of course, guys*

You're back in college, and you're complaining!? You ingrate! I have to wait until the 13th until college can welcome me back to it's warm embrace. I'm bored feckless at home at the minute.

Speaking of college censorship, want to hear something sick? About December last year, there was a huge furore over some guy accessing porn from college terminals. No problem, you might say, Galway is a fairly cool place, and non-denominational, so what?

Weeeeeel, the chap in question was caught playing with himself at the same time (covertly, of course. He didn't let the little general out of the bunker while dancing on a desk). Now this is in a computer suite, with at least 10 other users in the same room at the same time. How we laughed when we heard.

Anyway, the college authorities then had cattle, as did the Students Union, the money-grabbing blood-suckers that they are. From what I've read here, I wouldn't be suprised if there will be a firewall in operation come Monday next, when I return.
Onwards.

"Every time I have some fun,
Mom you turn around and sigh;
I ask myself, why oh why.
See you must understand,
I can't work a Nine-to-Five,
So I'll be gone,
Come September.

Yes I'll be gone come September,
Yes I'll be gone come September,
Don't cry for me,
I'll be gone come September.
January, February, March, April, May
You start your sighing,
But Mom I can't stay.
I'll be gone come September,
I'll be gone on a bender,
So send me lots of spondoolics."

*LOL*

What a sad little wanker.

And of course, they're going to blame this on the computers, or their content, rather than the guy who was pulling it where he shouldn've.

"Oh, if that hadn't been available, he wouldn't have done it..."

What a crock. A guy twisted enough (no pun intended) to do that will do it anyway, but instead he'd have come down to the library and tossed while reading "Fanny Hill" (which IS rather an *ahem* book, btw. My library has it.) Or found some worse way to relieve his.. problems.
