Subject: Proposal
From: Gabriel Omeke
To: [email protected]

Dear Sir,

ASSISTANCE REQUIRED FOR ACQUISITION OF ESTATES

I write this to inform you of my desire to acquire estates or landed properties in the USA and Canada on behalf of the Director of Contracts and Finance Allocation of the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing (FMWH) in Nigeria.

Considering his very strategic and influential position, he would want the transaction to be strictly confidential. He further wants his identity to remain undisclosed at least for now, until the completion of the transaction; thus, our desire to have an overseas agent. I have therefore been directed to inquire whether you would agree to act as our overseas agent in order to actualize this transaction.

The deal, in brief, is that the funds with which we intend to effect our proposed investments in your country is presently in a coded account at the Nigeria Apex Bank (i.e. the Central Bank of Nigeria) and we need your assistance to transfer the funds to your country and into a convenient bank account that will be provided by you before we can put the funds into use in your country.

For this, you shall be considered to have executed a contract for the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing (F.M.W.H.) in Nigeria for which the Ministry should effect payment to you. The contract sum of which shall add up to US$26.4 Million, of which your share shall be 30% on your assent to the proposal.

Sequel to the successful execution of this transaction, we hope to use our share of the proceeds to invest [with your assistance] in real estates in your country and elsewhere. Be assured that this transaction is totally risk-free and all procedures must be legitimate in order to facilitate its realization.

If you are interested and capable of handling a transaction of this nature that entails absolute discretion and trustworthiness, please contact me promptly for further briefing on its actuation. You will have to furnish me with the following information for easy communication:

1. Your company name and address
2. Your personal fax number
3. Your personal telephone number.

Your swift response will be appreciated. Thank you in anticipation of your cooperation.

Yours faithfully,

Engr. Gabriel Omeke.

Porn is one thing, but, woah... Third-world governments and Swiss bank accounts? It raised an eyebrow.

Of course, if this were real, the guy's identity would already be revealed through his title. It's like saying "I represent the president of the United States of America, who wishes his identity to remain undisclosed for now...".

Tim's stating of the obvious is to be commended.

Sometimes it has to be done. Some people just don't see these things...

*nods*

Anyway, the pointTM:
The spam was silly.
Because it tried to be all hot shit and serious.
The spam was peculiar.
Because it concerned African countries and not women's boobies.
The spam was headscratching.
Because I said so.

I've seen several of those African finance ministry scams lately... in fact, my boss received a letter like that through the mail just a couple of weeks ago.

The writer said that he had received my boss's "excellent business credentials" and a good recommendation, blah blah blah... except my boss is just a small shop owner.

Reading bull by the shovelful can be fun sometimes... [Roll Eyes]

Either my email addresses are in every spam database, or they know me as being extremely nave, because I got that spam seven times during the last 12 months...

I got one the other week from the widow of the former president of morocco. I sent in the email addy to the fraud department at yahoo, but this was weeks ago and I haven't heard jake shit from them so i think they are all asleep.

Yahoo never do fuck all about spam using their addresses. Most of the time the addy has been created for a one-shot deal and won't be used again anyway.
