I'm looking for a site that allows for a search and comparison of any recent model of used car by keys such as mileage and reliability. Something like cNet's hardware search, but moreso and with cars. Anyone know anything?

www.carmax.com

Like that?

www.carfax.com lets you look up specific cars by VIN.

And, try http://www2.getauto.com/

Yes, you to can find all the sites you need just by using a search engine....

just use a search engine to find a search engine of your liking....

What if you don't like the search engine you use to find a search engine you like, do you use a search engine to find a better search engine to find a search engine you like to find the search engine you like for finding stuff?

It's not exactly something where the appropriate search terms are easy to come up with. Most sites don't advertize having a ten-layer used car search engine, for example.

Under any cirucmstances, AutoTrader.com was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

And who'da thought that my ideal car was a '96 Buick LeSabre?

'96 Buick LeSabre? Ick. Don't really care for LeSabres much...

Rather large pair o' wheels for an 18-year old with, oh, two full years of driving experience under his belt.

Suffering from SPS, perhaps?

I wonder what Simon drives. Or even what drives Simon...

I used to use Yahoo to search for Google because I didn't want it in my address bar, and was too lazy to bookmark it. [Big Grin]

What Simon drives: 1995 Ford Taurus, green, seldom clean.

What drives Simon: Deep-seated fear of rejection coupled with megalomaniac tendancies, healthily sprinkled with self-loathing.

DAMN RIGHT! [Big Grin]

Although, that wont exactly be true soon, since Buick's upcoming Rainier will just be the Oldsmobile Bravada rebadged. So there's a little Oldsmobile still alive SOMEWHERE...

Um..I remember hearing a couple months ago that the Oldsmobile line was to be cashiered becasue of low consumer action. Seemed that no one was buying them because the cars have the word "old" in the name.

I'll take a '98 Intrepid, thank you very much. A red one. ES.

Oldsmobile was the worst selling brand for GM in the past few years. GM never really gave them much of anything to work with, all their cars in the past few years were rebadges of cars used elsewhere. They also had among the least amount of cars to offer, with 5 (A minivan, an SUV, 2 sedans, and a coupe/sedan), as compared to Chevrolet's 12 or so.

Buick is their 2nd worst selling brand and currently also selling just 5 vehicles (1 SUV and 4 sedans), but they will be gaining 2 more vehicles in the next few years (The Oldsmobile Bravada turned into the Buick Rainier, and the new Bucik Bengal roadster), so they probably wont be killed off anytime soon.

Oldsmobile used to be much better back in the 60s and 70s, when they sold the most popular car in America, the Cutlass (my mom even had one). Since then they just...died.
