...to all you Americans who celebrate our Independence Day. [Big Grin]

those of other nationalities, may, of course, also have a happy day, just a less celebratory version.

One nation, over Mexico, under Canada ...

From what I heard, my 4th of July will suck like now. Its because of a few people are doing anti-abortion propaganda outside. Fiorst they will ruin my time on the beach by flying pics of aborted fetuses, next they'll shove the crap down my throat outside my own house?

Unfortunately as long as they are not on my lawn but in the streets, all I can do is throw things as them.

But Happy 4th of July.

Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :

mmm, to be honest, fuck the fourth..

It means nothing, it is just another day in a long line of days before one dies and becomes worm food...

Thanks

I have a flat tire and just found out that I need to cover my roommate's share of the rent (which is due tomorrow without late penalties). I guess it's a good thing I have a savings account. I guess it's not a good thing that my roommate used a temporary check and went to Illinois for the week.

Matrix, are the pro-life people holding an organized parade or demonstration? Or are they simply doing the mob thing with fiery torches and pitchforks? One of my friends here at school is head of the Free Speech Coalition club. She's arranged an aborted fetus picture fest outside the library last year, and she's guaranteed me that it will be back this year.

Anyway, yeah, it's the Fourth of July, God Bless America, blah, blah, blah, pass the ketchup and the burgers.

Damn. Forgot to wish everyone a happy Second of July this year...

Someone opened fire at the Israeli ticket counter at LAX Airport (killed one person, wounded others, was shot and killed himself) and someone crashed a plane into a Los Angeles park (one person dead).

Al Qaeda?

Posted by Siegfried (Member # 29) on :

I'd say probably not, Veers. The airport shooting sounds more like someone operating independently. The airplane crash, from what I gather from my local newspaper's website, seems to be an accident. They're reporting that the pilot radioed air traffic control that he couldn't climb. Then the plane hit the lake and skipped along the surface of the lake until it hit shore.

Posted by Matrix (Member # 376) on :

They got big pictures like 9x18 feet posters of unbron fetuses. Ok, I am Pro-Choice, and this type of bullshit bothers me greatly. It's a fucking holiday and they're doing that? I mean Abortion Clinics do not advertise, and they really don't care if you get an abortion or not. This type of crap does not covert people to the other side, it just pisses them off.

I wish the local newspaper had a wesbite that have their articles, but they don't. On the 2nd, they had a big article on it, about Pro-Life people flying airplanes around the beach of New Jersey...

Anyway, Happy 4th of July.

No one knows how to appreciate a delicious egg salad sandwich and a tall glass of lemonade anymore. It's all abortion this and pedantry that and complex political realities in a global context the other. Well, ok, gotcha. But is there no more room for a simple boy to enjoy a nice day and, at the end of it, blow things up?

Incidently, WarCraft III was in stores yesterday. Why is anyone online (outside of Battle.net) today? Honestly, people, priorities.

I've spent the past 2 days "servicing" another woman. I needed my Flare fix. Sorry to disappoint you, Simon.

There is no way I'm paying $80+ for a computer game, no matter how good it is. I'm perfectly fine playing SW Galactic Battlegrounds [Big Grin]

I'm curious as to what lonely, benighted planet or planetoid is so thoroughly gripped by the forces of evil that the basic version of WarCraft III costs as much as the incredibly silly (and yet still somehow tantilizing) ultimate super edition, or a year of TNG on DVD, or, uh, eighty things that cost one dollar. Neptune? Charon?

Plus, playing Age of Empires II with Star Wars skins seems to me to be no substitute for the greatest game ever made by human beings. Mind you, I haven't actually played it yet, or seen more than a few minutes of play, and the reviews tend to all say "really great!" but not quite "TIE Fighter great!" or "Civilization II great!" So, you know, different strokes, I guess, or so I admit under great pressure.

well, my mIRC copy of warcraft III cost me not a cent. i hate the fourth of july. i have to spend it with my family, and when i get back home none of my friends are around.

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

Actually, most of the reviews I ead of "Galactic battlegrounds" tended to say, well, "AOE II with Star Wars skins. And some inherent sillyness caused by trying to balance blatently non-blanced armies. The rebels against the Gungans?" It scored in the 70s pretty much throughout.

Well, I watched A&E's "Pops Goes the Fourth" and the Power of Freedom fireworks presentation over downtown. Plus, I ate brownies. So, the Fourth turned out pretty decently after all.

Posted by CaptainMike (Member # 709) on :

i went to a spontaneous pool party... pretty good times.. enough drunken fireworks accidents to make the world interesting.. plus we played a game of pool double dare that led to everyone getting naked for each other. interesting stuff. and i got home early enough after sobering up to still see the news. and bad news it is, god bless us all... stupid planes and airports.

hmm.. y'know, like the one back there, i noticed that Shik consistently posts about spending whole days in bed with females, through his own innuendoes engaging in intense intercourse with them. but when i post about the fact that i finally get to kiss a girl, i get flamed for being a chauvinist braggart. to anyone who did or would do so to me, i have to launch a big 'fuck you' with the sincere hopes that you wake up with a detached rectum... and yes, now in the hopes of playing nice, all my complaints to those people will be in the form of email, ICQ or letter-bomb... cocksuckers.

but anywho, as i watched a red white and blue flaming rocket veer sideways into a tree after being improperly launched from an inclined plane, and starting a small fire, i couldnt be helped but be instilled with a brief and powerful feeling of pride in our country, which stands for freedom, liberty, and bombing the hell out of people with oil, children or no.

*salutes*

actually, im alright with the USA lately.. that dread ive been feeling since last year is letting up a little.. probably a sign that the worst is around the corner yet....

The thing is, we already failed at getting Shik to stop waving his dick around at us. We were just trying to prevent fighting a war on two, erm... fronts.

Sometimes, I wonder what it would be like to kindergarden. Sometimes, I think I already know.

God bless the House of Pies, for without it I would have no sex life at all. Other than the midgets.

July 4.

Bah Humbug.

Happy Canada Day!!!

Actually, I think July 5th is better than the 4th:

quote:
On July 5, 1946, the bikini made its debut during an outdoor fashion show at the Molitor Pool in Paris.
[Big Grin] God bless the French.

Posted by Shik (Member # 343) on :

Eff the French. Stupid Bastille Day. Stupid cheese-eatin' surrender monkeys.

And I wave my dick at no one! Well...maybe my girlfriend. I did not intend to spend 2 days having the girl sex with Julia. Indeed, I invited her over for dinner & we were talking & she said that anytime I wanted her for other uses, I could feel free. So I did. Then I brought her home. Then I told Lindsey, who laughed. Then I went over to Julia's & inadvertantly stayed the night. I'm a little off now, due to semi-unusual circumstances. But it's getting OK. Plus strange dreams about L1011s & TriStars plunging nose first into Pugh St. Very strange.

So I'm not allowed to discuss my day? Hmm. How very Boblike, Bob being my father & him operating very much on the philosophy of "do as I say, not as I do."

Meh. Whichever. No anger, no annoyance. Just middling indifference.

Posted by CaptainMike (Member # 709) on :

i am all for you discussing your day. i just wonder why, if i say sdomething like that, people give me a hard time. um.. a difficult time.

hey, the fourth was profitable.. i found a boom box and a walkman in my backseat that arent mine.. im too moral though, im trying to locate the owners to return them.. yay to fuzzy party memories!

Posted by Shik (Member # 343) on :

Eff a morals. If no one claims them in a week, they's yours.

And now I'm thinking of Oo-Mox For Fun And Profit. Weird.

Posted by Matrix (Member # 376) on :

It cost be $60 for Warcraft 3 where I am. I played it, and my computer freszes up, so now either upgrade the computer, play frisbee with the CD, or return the game saying "My computer sucks, give me my money back."

As for the other stuff that was said... not a clue.

so i'll get more respect if i eviscerate someone? noted for future reference.

Perhaps I should stay out of Rhode Island, for ahwile. [Wink]

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

"Respect" is probably the wrong word. Annoyance, disaproval, belief that said person is an arse, all of them are more likely.

Posted by CaptainMike (Member # 709) on :

seeing as ive already got that, it basically wouldnt make a difference if i eviscerated someone, then... hmm...

But if you get bored...

Spent the 4th with two of my four sisters, and my brother. Cookout, eating of much food, watched a Stevie Ray Vaughn video, along with others. Thursday night those who were staying with me at the house watched "The Godfather". Did some illegal CD copying on Friday, then watched "The Godfather" PtII that night. I rented both to see if I wanted to buy them, and I think I will. I watched both movies 3 times each over the coarse of a week. (Plus some "Sopranos" tapes)

[Cool]

I don't remember what I did on the Fourth, besides not go to work. Nothing else. Not a damn bit of it. Except there was a lightning storm that substituted for fireworks. And Dairy Queen hot dogs figured in at some point.

Therefore, I shall conclude that I had the fun.

The next day, I had my allergist tell me that my lung capacity is, basically okay, which is good, except that there still has to be a reason that I've been having coughing fits so bad I see spots and often feel as if a weight is resting on my lower chest. On the brighter side, I got ST:TNG season 3 on DVD.

The day after that I rented and watched a buncha movies and had the Julie sex (not to be confused with Shik's Julia sex.)

Yesterday I nursed Julie through a bizarre period of semiconsciousness which lasted all day and made me wonder if she was sneaking Darvocet again. Apparently not.

This morning everything was fine, although I awoke in the hallway with no recollection of how I got there, complete with pillow and comforter and the living room fan blowing on me.

Just out of curiosity, I just Babelfished the above post to German and back again.

Methinks the Universal Translator is still a ways off.

I hate the July 4th weekend. It's slow at work. I got maybe 20 runs this whole week, working four days Thus -> Sunday. I barely made $70 in tips plus a $110 paycheck.

And, oh yeah, I've got $500 in bills due the middle of the month!

Ah well. Holiday weekends suck, but those around them don't.

"And hot dogs of the dairy queen went through at something point."

Personally, I was more impressed by "The day afterwards, which I rented the Julie sex and watched out buncha films and had (with sex Julia Shiks to be confused.)".

Hey Snay, how about you go outside your workplace, call in a delivery from a phonebooth, with mandatory handkerchief on, and order the pizza to the other end of town, where "you" live.
Then you go back, take the order and the pizza, go to local park and have nice pizza with extra 20 minutes to spare!

if your going for babelfish then reverse-babelfish translating hilarity, then use chiese or japanese. their language structure prevents anything from being readable on re-translating. plus it adds wierd concepts to it.
