Some Geeky questions that I need help being answered, which you good folks may or may not be able to aid me with.

1) In the original Valiant Comics version of Shadowman, what was the exact date Shadowman was going to be "murdered in a grisly fashion"? (this one is probably so obscure nobody knows what I'm talking about...but you never know)

2) How old was Riker in "Encounter at Farpoint"?

3) What was the name of the drug Spiderman's boss tried to blackmail him with in Spiderman 2099?

4) Who was the second ECW world champion?

5) Who is/was the oldest immortal in the Highlander TV show?

Thanks for the info, if you provide it.

Aha! Thanx, guys.

Somebody told me the drug was called "Rapture".

So now: I still need 1 and 4 answered. 1 is of higher value in points though. (?)

The answer to #4 is, if memory serves, Johnny Hot Body.

Really, who could forget a name as frightening and awe-inspiring as that one?

Johnny Hot Body?

I thought everybody in ECW had names like "The Whole F'n Show" and the "Ultimate Gangsta"?

Thanks.

Yeah, now they do, but this was way back in '92 when the whole franchise was only slightly more popular than AFHVs.

I dont know the exact date, but that Shadowman murder-thing was 1999.. i think that was the centerpiece of the attempted Unity 2000 revival of Valiants line, right?

BTW i knew the spiderman one but couldnt be bothered to answer. and a crossed synapse with a Simpsons quote has made me think his secret identity was Miguel Sanchez, but im pretty sure it was something incongruous.

Spiderman 2099 was Miguel O'Hara.

Rapture was not used to 'bribe' O'Hara, but was intended to addict him and keep him and working for Alchemax, because only through Alchemax could the drug be legally obtained.

His boss's name was Tyler Stone.

Shadowman will/did die in 1999, according to Newsarama, 9/3/99
quote:
In the original Shadowman #5 (Unity), we learned Jack Boniface dies in 1999
also,

there is, apparently, no exact date ever given.

I stopped reading Valiant shortly after Shooter was fired...but I did remember that Shadowman learned of his dark future during the Unity crisis. The tech-chick that worked on him in the regeneration chamber told him off-handedly that he would die on such and such date in 1999 (which always cracked me up. The look on his face: "THE FUCK"? That's some heavy shit to be loaded down with right after you get out of the hospital...)

I think that the exact date was given somewhere else, probably in Rai #0. There was a scene where all the Valiant hero types were mourning his death...

Plus, one of the big things about the Valiant Universe was that everything always happened on a "real" date, unlike Marvel or DC, where dates are almost NEVER mentioned, so that nothing can be contradicted later on. Intellectually lazy stuff, but hey, it's comics. what can you do?

Sadly, I've sold almost all my comics, and will now never know for sure.

Anyway. All these geek questions were on a local Beat the Geeks type trivia contest. No big prize awaits me, but it was fun all the same. Thanks for the help.
