Part of the Brighton Pier burned up last night. I was on a ghost tour of Brighton and, halfway through, a random guy came and told us the Brighton Pier was on fire. It was burning quite well when we took a detour to see it.

So -

Since you've been in country it has fallen down and burned.... [Wink]

We won't tell.

Actually, this was the other pier at Brighton. Still, to take both of them out in a few weeks is pretty impressive. The only question is why?

"Who?" might be moderately important as well.

Someone clearly making a political statement against me.

It's better than them pissing in your mouth.

Gee, you two together must have been a barrel of laughs.

"Ghost tour?"

For the record, I wasn't in the country until 4 days AFTER the West Pier collapsed.

Lee: It was a tour around the haunted places in Brighton. They said the Prince Regent still haunts his suite in the Royal Pavilion. Poor guy.

Convenient...

And me and Tom were fun! I was hot and sweaty from having spent the afternoon at Alton Towers and the evening running around London trying to find THE MAN WITH NO MOBILE PHONE, and Tom was Canadian. How much more fun can you get?

Whoever heard of someone with no mobile, in this day and age.

I don't have one.

I have three.

Well, just one SIM card. And the other two are leftovers from my kid brother, which I use for charging the batteries for the third (the phones, not the brother, although he sure has a lot of surplus energy). One of the phones was run over by a car. It works just fine, except for the display. The other was run over by my brother. The charger plug is the only part that still works...

Old phones never die. They just sort of start to decay the moment the dealer hands them over.

I've retained my two oldest Nokias just because I loved the designs; a third I chucked because it was an Ericsson and therefore shite; another Nokia was on the whole a rather boring one and therefore got traded in for my current model. My entire life is run by my phone, if I lose it I'm fucked. 8)

I recently got the 6510, the smaller, newer sibling of the 3310, my old phone. I'm very satisfied with it.

I'm sorry Lee but I must protest! Ericsson phones rock! Simple menus, neat designs...they are the gods of the mobile phone world and I worship at their antennae...(sp)

I don't have a cell phone and don't plan on getting one anytime soon.

Pft. Americans don't have friends.

I've recently been given a nice looking Samsung. Looks lovely. And has Tetris on it.

Of course, the menu is a real pain in the arse, but oh well.

Oh, and I have a new number. I'll text it to you tomorrow Lee.

I'll never forgive them for the death of my telegraph machine...

I suggest that all the people who have extra money lying around that they can spend on cell phones should give said extra money to me.

I have three phones! With buttons! That can dial people! Over long distances!

It's madness I tell you.

Posted by Nim (Member # 205) on :

And yet you can't bear to take your eyes off them, they are everpresent in your mind.

Tell me, were they a birthday present?

Still no number from Liam. He lies!

Posted by PsyLiam (Member # 73) on :

No, he forgets!

I have had two phones of my own, and I have one from work now. My phones were easy to use, and I needed one when I had it, but I don't need it now, so I got rid of the contract.

I have a Nokia phone now, for work, and I hate it. It is the first phone I've ever seen that I had to read the directions to figure out how to place a call. None of the buttons are marked with anything remotely resembleing anything connected to making a call. I can place a call now, and recieveing is easy, but I don't play games on it, as I would have to get the bloody manual out to figure out how.

I hope cellphones cause Cancer.

Well, I avoid diet Coke, so I assume it all balances out in the end.

And, er, I have just realised I don't have your number Lee. This makes it hard for me to text you.
