So, my son is 5 now. The other day he's watching Peter Pan (for the millionth time), the Disney cartoon. He suddenly yell out "Hook's playing the piano, but he has two hands"

He's nitpicking video media.

I can't recall the details right now, but a day or so later he's pointing out inconsistency between episodes of a kid's series.

He's arguing canon.

Today in the car he suddenly asks - "Wouldn't it be cool if they had a show where Peter Pan met they guys from Star Wars?"

He's making up fan boy stories.

Flare genes must be dominant - in those rare instances where they propagate at all, thus insuring the geek species survives?

Aww [Big Grin] "Daddy, how long is the Defiant?"

Well, it may not be genetic. It could have come about through exposure to you.

What you need to do is have another child, and have him/her/it raised by someone completely not like you, and see what happens.

When I was five, I was wondering where Optimus Prime's trailer went when he transformed, and how it got back when he went back to a truck.

And look where it's gotten me today!

As a small child, I always wondered why Japan's populace cheered Godzilla when he always destroyed their city as he fought all those other monsters (doubtlessly killing thousands of innocents each time.)

Then I saw "Godzilla Vs. King Kong and was all "WTF?!? King Kong is'nt that big and when'd he get electricity powers?!?"

"I was at school, and some kids came up to me and said it was 1305-E, and I said 'No, it's 71807,' and then we got into a big fight and...that's why I'm home early."

Mine, during a kindergarten activity, had to draw a heart in a sketch of a body. He drew it green. I asked him 'Is he a Vulcan?', and he said 'Yes, because they have green blood.'

(I won't go into grey Vulcan hearts and located where the human liver is; the little guy can't get to so much detail, even provided he likes TOS more than TNG)

I think we should activate the alarm. This is growing to terrible proportions. [Big Grin]

My own 4 year old is also showing signs of my personality. It's scary sometimes, especially for my wife.

As for Captain Hook playing piano, go see Shrek 2. There's a bar scene with a guy who looks remarkably like Hook playing the piano with his hook - and they make it work well!

My ten year old has been displaying my personality for a few years now, very much to my exs dismay. And I love instigating the pains to her more than ever now....

To me, the scariest part of this thread is that all of you are spawning. [Big Grin]

I still wonder about that to this day.

I would say it is in the same place that Superman keeps his clothes.

Or Spider-man, for that reason.

Spidey webs his clothes to some building when he's in action....in the comics, his webbing disolves in about an hour.

He's lost clother to hobos several times when a fight dragged a bit too long.

I am such a geek for knowing this.

What's sadder is they take the time to include that in the story, and the fact that I used the word 'sadder'.

Could be worse, it could be the most saddest thing.....

"...and the fact that I used the word 'sadder'."

As opposed to what?

Posted by Futurama IV Shizzle (Member # 968) on :

as opposed to not posting.
