A Man was generating 30,000V of static electricity but he didn't feel it:

What the hell... the jacket was still generating electricity!?! Is this some new type of power source!?!

No, I think cumulonimbus clouds are older.

ZAP!

Time to start using fabric softener.
My fleece bedspread is a cracklin' mass of static if I dry it without a bunch of those lil' sheets.

"A Victorian man conducted 30,000 volts of static electricity in his jacket..."

And then he yelled "By Jove, my greatcoat seems to be conducting a galvanic charge!" Then he hopped into a hackney coach, and sped off to alert James Maxwell before his muttonchop whiskers were set aflame.

(Because : "Victorian".)

Heheheh.

Seriously though - how the hell could one person - or his jacket for that matter retain so much static electricity with out it just earthing away at some point? And why weren't balloons from 50 miles around sticking to his head!?! [Smile]

The thing about static electricity is that it can't just earth away. Hence the name "static".

Spontaneous combustion suddenly seems very probable a phenomenomenomenomenomenomenomenomenom. Tim Russ concurs.

Well people discharge static electricity all the time.

That's just a "theory".
Soon the idea of "inteligent zapping" will get equal coverage in our schools and we can all live free of the "aithiest conspiracy".

That's the aithiest comment I've ever heard. So aithy, in fact, that I begin to ponder if it wouldn't be preferable with zapping in schools instead of bringing guns. And there'd be state-wide afros to obot.
