The 'planet' Xena has apparently got a moon, nick-named Gabrielle. Scientist calls it 'inherently cool'.

It also appears that a number of other big chunks of rock have smaller chunks of rock orbiting them. This again brings up the question of exactly what a planet is supposed to be. Apparently, having a moon doesn't make you a planet. And being a chunk of rock orbiting the sun doesn't either.

"Santa"?

"Easterbunny"?!

What happened to the days when scientists weren't complete weirdos?

Um, there were never such days.

Yeah, where we would name stuff after our heroes, they name stuff after thiers, hubble, giotto, etc.
It's the same thing!
I vote (not that anyone ever listens to me) for them to keep those names, darn site less boring, and maybe get mote people engaged with astronomy and less astrology!

Do we really want the Moties to get better at astronomy?

Yeah, isn't it enough that they get anything or anyone that falls off the draw bridge?

So if they detect a ring will it be called a "Shakra"?

Is it emitting radio waves that go "AY-YI-YI-YI-YI"?

Will NASA have to do an "Enhancement" to the terrain to make any "bumps" more prominent?
