Nuclear power has come a long way since Chernobyl. Chernobyl was an RBMK-1000 Graphite moderated nuclear plant. Which is the same type used for testing for the Manhattan project. That is old technology. And it was unsafe from the very beginning.
The CANDU reactors are much safer. And Canada actually markets the design worldwide. So far it's the safest form of nuclear power. Until someone finally unlocks the secrets of the sun.
I'm neither for, or against nuclear power. If it can be harnessed and utilized safely, then I believe it can save us from catastrophe. Nuclear weapons on the other hand, I am completely against. I believe Albert Einstien said it best:
"I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought. But I can tell you, World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Nuclear power is safer than ever now...that we're giving the technology to....INDIA.
Because India has such an exceptional track record of governmental responsibility and as the good of the public as it's primary concern.

Well, Indians have that whole Hindu outlook going on - they don't mind being killed thanks to the wonders of reincarnation.
On the otherhand, Union Carbide was an American company who were cutting corners in order to save money...

Personally, I'm all for nuclear power. I'd also like to have nuclear rockets for space travel, but that's a bit of wishful thinking right now.
