Has anyone upgraded to version 3 recently? I did it on Download Day and I've noticed that when I close and re-open the browser, I have to log back into all the sites I was logged into. Gmail, Flare, dA, eBay, etc - nothing seems exempt so it must be a problem with Firefox, but I can't figure it out...anybody else have this problem?

That didn't happen to me, but I upgraded with RC1, so I don't think I'm a good benchmark.

I don't recommend Firefox 3. For some reason it's incompatible with Macromedia Flash V9. I'll stick with 2.0 until they work out the kinks in #3.

I upgraded about a week after Download Day, and I haven't had any problems.

Is that supposed to be a new feature? Because that has always happened to me.

Never had a problem before...maybe you had your private data set to clear when you closed the browser?

I haven't had any flash problems. I see lots of flash and have the latest version installed...

I've been fine apart from it suddenly closing a lot. Which seems to happen more when I'm using the trackpad on my laptop - when it's in the dock and I use a mouse, it hardly happens at all.

Hmm...then I don't know why I'm having problems with flash?

Edit: Reinstalled 3.0 and yep I'm still having trouble. It keeps saying that I have Macromedia Flash 6 installed. Can't even use youtube.

You have to think in Russian for it to work!

my obligatory Firefox joke- see you next version with another!

You have, I assume, tried reïnstalling Flash itself?

I'm guessing that the sudden silence means "no".

Firefox works fine for me now.

Yeah, the last update fixed whatever weird problem I was having.

Actually my problem was that I had some files from an older version of flash still installed.

Does 3 fix the "Quicktime crashes even when you do that thing that is supposed to fix it already" problem?

Posted by Fabrux (Member # 71) on :

I've never had any issues with Quicktime.... then again, I try to avoid it like the plague, so that could be why.

Me too, but neither the MPlayer nor VLC plugins seem to run .movs in FF on Windows (VLC plugin works fine in Linux, but the MPlayer plugin crashes FF in Linux [Big Grin] ). P'raps I've fucked the configuration up, it wouldn't be the first time something that is entirely my fault... [Razz]
