I hope the Americans down near the DC-Philly area are coping well with this onslaught. Here's a little chuckle for all of ya:

I live near Baltimore, but I work in Bethesda, near DC (as does Snay, who I'm sure will be piping up here soon). Yeah, it's quite a mess. I was trapped at my girlfriend's house for an entire week, and I just got into work today.

What really sucked was that only a few days after the first snowstorm, people had dug their cars out enough, and the roads were plowed enough, so that people could actually go somewhere. And then the second snowstorm came, and it basically put everything back to square one.

Now, although all the roads are plowed, all the snow previously on the roads is now a ten-foot high wall surrounding all the streets. All sidewalks and ground are covered by about three feet of snow. I think it will all be melted by April.

Oh, and in reply to your link: AFAIK, any dumb college kid should be faced with $2500 fines and jail time for acting so stupid as to throw snowballs at a plow truck during a snowstorm.

It's still less stupid than the gang of morons that go surfing during hurricanes- with a fatality or two each time.

It's cool here, but thankfully not "cold" like it was the other night- mid-40's is pretty damn cold for Fort Lauderdale.

I dont even own a jacket.

"Harrisonburg police spokeswoman Hary-Hope Vass..."

Hary-Hope? Is that a real first name or is it some kind of weird police codename?

I'm in Michigan and we got dumped on, but nowhere near what happened farther east. My dad was about to leave for an RVIA conference when the storm hit. Hotel phone lines were all busy with people canceling reservations and travel agents were asking people to call back later unless it was an emergency.

We never got any of those massive storms here. Although recent reports say that its supposed to snow all week, with two days having 10-15cm accumulation each. Either the forecasters are being pessimistic, or horribly optimistic. They haven't been having a good track record here this winter...

Yeah, I thought about that myself, since it's a proven fact that there's a sharp rise in births nine months after a snowstorm. Don't worry about me though, Pensive, I won't be calling myself "daddy" anytime soon.
