Seeing much of the Anti-Christian sentiment here disturbs me. God didn't make us robots, he gave us a choice whether to follow him or not.

Here are a few quotes from one of my favorite Christian songs, which I see has happened to a few people here:

quote:

When you come back again
would you bring me something from the fridge?
Heard a rumor that the end is near
but I just got comfortable here.

quote:

Once we could hear you,
now our sencses are shot.
We've forgotten our first love.
We have lost the plot.

quote:

And why are you still calling?
You forgave, we forgot.
We're such experts at stalling
that we've lost the plot
lost the plot

Here's a portion of another one of my fav. songs:

quote:

You don't understand
I'm not talking multiple choice
You don't get it, man
if the cross offends you, find another voice
I am not running for office here
I won't keep it purposely vague
I've heard New Age Life-force trip
I'd rather be dipped in bubonic plague.

Take back your free advice
I don't accept
I will not play those games
God is not a secret to be kept
God is not a secret to be kept

This is in a Christian song called 'Breakfast':

quote:

WHEN THE TOAST IS BURNED
AND ALL THE MILK HAS TURNED
AND CAPTAIN CRUNCH IS WAVING FAREWELL
WHEN THE BIG ONE FINDS YOY
MAY THIS SONG REMIND YOU
THAT THEY DON'T SERVE BREAKFAST IN HELL

And finally, this was in the Church bulliten this morning:

quote:
Better to go to heaven in rags then hell in embroidery.

Anti-Christian sentiment? The only anti-Christian sentiments I see floating around are dealing with the Christian position on homosexuality. That doesn't mean that they are all arguing that all of Christianity is bad. And I'm saying them because most of them are Christian, and I am not. But as far as I've read, there has been no outright anti-Christian discussions going on.

Okay, I take that back. There were a few instances of brief anti-Christian sentiment in the beginning of the thread and overtones of it in my posts. However, there is not enough of it to justify worrying about it. I doubt we'll be the downfall of Christianity.

Heh...
Some choice!

Let's see.. utter obedience and required love of a being which doesn't present any clear evidence of its existence or beneficial effect on life...

Or eternal hellfire, damnation and torture.

That's a CHOICE?

Kind of like the choice Billybob gave his girlfriend when he said:

"Ah luv yeew, and yew kin leave me iffin' you wan', but iffin yew do, I'm gonna take this hyar shotgun an blow yer face offen yer haid.."

Stalker-type love, not real love. Real love doesn't MANDATE reciprocation. It's only tainted love.

*Starts singing*
Tainted love... (beep-beep) tainted love...
And you think love is to pray, but I'm sorry, I don't pray that way...

"Let us Prey"
